Good riddance.

Well, someone had to say it first.

I'd say what I think of the child abandoning contemptible bastard, but I'm too respectful to the recently deceased.

No surprise failed to mention the poor little soul he fathered outside his marriage.

It's just a breaking news article. I'm sure they will mention Flora in a later report.

I have no idea if you're trying to do a wind up, I never celebrate the death of anyone to the extent of crying.

I'm sure his wife or other close relatives cried when they got the news.

Cecil Parkinson fell off his perch today http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-35403445

His treatment of his love child was very disappointing and probably put an end to his political career

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1381064/Floras-story-and-Saras-too.html

in particular the terms of the order he obtained from the courts possibly using his influence and contacts

Miss Keays said she did not know what was happening to her when the injunction was sought in 1993. She agreed to its terms because she considered it would stop reporters prying into their lives.

But it went much further than that. Extraordinarily, it meant Flora could not be included in school photographs during the few terms she attended one. If she won a prize it could not be announced. She performed in an ice skating show in Bristol, but her name could not be included in the programme.

So, Flora's coming to an ice rink near one of us now and the local press can go hog wild, then.

Alberto Fujimori, 69, the former President of Peru, has tongue cancer.

How come no one informed me about this guy?

SC

Former Peruvian president Alberto Fujimori, who is serving a 25-year prison term for corruption and human rights violations, has been hospitalized, officials said Monday, the latest in a string of health crises. Fujimori, 77, was transferred under heavy guard Sunday to a clinic in the capital Lima for a gastric problem and bleeding on his tongue, where he has had a recurring cancerous lesion.

Gunmen have fatally shot Honduras' former youth minister Marco Julio Trochez. A communique from Honduras' police department says the attackers escaped.

The statement said that Trochez was shot by three gunmen on Sunday as he drove up to his apartment building in La Ceiba about 400 kilometers (250 miles) north of Tegucigalpa on the Atlantic coast. He was hit by at least seven bullets.

The saddest part is that my long departed egg holder was called Flora.

I'm surprised to learn that egg holder had a name. Buildings, ships, lorries and locomotives regularly have names, so named egg holders aren't so daft, but it's unusual.

Miss Keays family lived in the next street to my parents when I was growing up- I even remember the press being decamped outside her family home. Google up Furzehatt Road in Plymstock if you're really bored and see the large detached houses on the southern side. It was one of them.

Mind you given our local MP at the time was a certain Mr Alan Clark (Plymouth Sutton)- this wasn't anything of a surprise to the residents of Plymstock. The parents shopped in Fine Fare (an oxymoron if ever there was one)

Well it was her house, she was built like a ship, was 3.5 tonnes and went like a train.

Former Tory MP and minister Cecil Parkinson reportedly dead, confirmed by family. https://twitter.com/PA/status/691631489239379968

News reports to follow when I get them.

Edit: BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-35403445

I have to confess to feeling slightly sorry for Cecil. Not because of his actions ,which were abysmal but when you look at the fact that his career was ruined for having consensual sex with a grown woman when many of his counterparts in the limelight (Jimmy Savile etc) were shagging kids and getting away with it all their lives I can`t help but think his indiscretions seem minimal.I do feel sorry for his illegitimate daughter far more than him but apparently his wife gave him an ultimatum:Her or the love child. So he was a condemned man whatever he did.Not excusing him at all though he brought upon his own downfall.Just seems slightly ironic with hindsight that he was vilified when others did a hell of a lot worse.

The tories were often ones that would preach family values, so it was hypocritical that Parkinson was having an affair with his secretary. Not only that, it's am abuse of his position as her boss.

On the first count absolutely.Especially when you consider some of his party election broadcasts which referred to such values. On the second count though although he was in a position of power Sara Keys was in her 30`s so was more than capable of fully consenting to the affair. It takes two to tango in such a situation. He was still awful to her and their daughter though don`t get me wrong he was still a shit.
