I am reluctant to speculate on who could be Conservative Leader until after the election and see the make up of the parliamentary party. Anyone accepting that role will almost be resigned to the fact that they will not become Prime Minister so it would not surprise me if an older more experience person took it on almost as a caretaker leader for two years until it pans out how well or badly Starmer is doing. If Reform get some seats that it will enbolden the right and there may be a coming together to form an alliance on the right but that risks a defection of One Nation Tories from the party.
