There's definitely a lot of people that make me wonder how they lasted so long, so I suspect April will have a couple of major deadpooling deaths... Don't get me wrong here Joey, you play the game and I don't, I just snipe from the edges because it amuses me, I can't be asked with actual research. But these posts about 'feeling' this death or that might or might not occur? Surely of all places this forum is about certainty not a tarot session for mystics anonymous? There's a feeling in the air, can't put my finger on it, somebody's gonna die.
alt obits guy 3,371 Posted March 23, 2018 It's possible April will be busy. There are a few popular picks who've already seen the inside of a hospital in 2018 and a few others who've not been in the news at all, despite terminal illnesses. That can sometimes be a precursor to passings.
En Passant 3,741 Posted March 24, 2018 I don't know why I bother*. Possible April will be busy? There's 7.5 billion people on this planet, some of them will die next month (not pass, move on, or some other platitude. Actually die, cease to be, become an ex-person, or parrot), some of them will be famous. Maybe. *Doubtless nor does anyone else. PS: I bet if I started an 'I've seen passings over to the other side coming in the next month in my tealeaves,' thread it'd last all of 15 minutes. Rightfully so.

En Passant 3,741 Posted March 24, 2018 Oh heck Wills, I don't doubt it. I've admitted I cba with the work to actually play. But lets face it, that's no excuse for peering at the astrology page of Murdochs' finest, (or some equivalent) as a fix for it. Nor any reason for posting it.
msc 18,472 Posted March 24, 2018 I refer you all to my late grandad. "There's people dying today that have never died before!" Nods. 1

This site of all places should be a haven where the members are not afraid to use the word "died".

Your husbands dead, and he's not coming back! Get used to it!" "Ah yes, but sometimes a few little hints help, like, remember how your husband used to love a good laugh?" I swear, sometimes it feels like 20 odd years of watching Father Ted was the perfect intro to any debate on this site.

drol 11,946 Posted March 24, 2018 This period has been awfully quiet after the death of Vietnam PM Phan Van Khai (which was big only for me and his family) so someone known is due to die in a short period (today or tomorrow). I don't mean household names, but old Hollywood actors, state leaders, Nobel Prizes (Paul Boyer lost his son in January, I thought he would be gone by now and I have inside knowledge Leon Lederman has been in the final stages of dementia for months) or popular DDP picks. Yes, it's been all quiet for a bit.

msc 18,472 Posted March 24, 2018 I've a feeling that the death of Zell Miller has put me above the fearful Gerard Tierney, however briefly. And it's not just an illusion (carrying on the TOTP82 theme?) for I have seen the leaderboard! My first ever unique pick in the Alt Obits, and it was a fluke. Still looking for that first ever DDP unique hit. Death Impends 7,975 Posted March 24, 2018 It's been a while since I got any AO unique hits, but I like some of my past ones. Aaron Shikler, Gregory Walcott, Arthur Rankin Jr...
Joey Russ 7,227 Posted March 24, 2018 There are some people on my team that I think will likely be unique when they eventually pass, but some of them will likely be a wrong guess (Spanky Manikan, for example, turned out to be a trio with two of Alt Obits finest deadpoolers). Still, I wasn’t expecting Mark E Smith to be unique, so one or two of them may surprise me...
