Honestly, I have watched Dr Who for decades.

There have only been three incarnations that made me turn the channel over and that was McCoy, Matt Smith and now Jodie.

I was quite excited at the idea of her taking over, she is a good actress, we may have seen a greater depth to the character but, unfortunately, we had to be educated on our shortcomings, our racism, our sexism and any other 'ism' the writers could throw at the audience.

I just wanted to be entertained, I wanted to empathise, I wanted to smile and frown and just enjoy the sodding show.

If this new series is like the old then it will be the end of the road for the Doctor and the series.

She seems decent but isn't given stuff that plays to her strengths. The main writer - Chris Chibnall - is one of the worst on TV (he also did Broadchurch which was horribly written too). Subtle as a sledgehammer to the nuts.

Personally as someone who properly started Dr Who with Ecclestone in 2005 and watched every episode since, I rate Jodie quite good. Maybe it is because I watch Dr Who reaction Youtube channels so I can watch the episode over and over again while it is reacted to by others and see how they feel about it.

The last series brought back The Master and gave us Ruth!Doctor and Jack Harkness. It was much better than Jodie's first episode run. Much like how Peter Capaldi's first series wasn't as good in my opinion. Series 8 was Capaldi's weakest but Series 9 was amazing. Maybe this is why I don't like 9th Doctor - because it always takes me a series to get used to a new Doctor.

I am excited for NYD special and for what the future holds.

"Consumer resistance" is the one great line Eric Saward ever wrote. Shame about the million others....

1 min in, Martin Slavin's Space Adventures, one of the best bits of incidental music the BBC used to use over and over.

Also during filming of that scene, lunch break was called, leaving the poor sods on the top level stuck in their costumes and having to go without their lunch!

Now *that's* proper Doctor Who. None of this sitting around somewhere debating if its ethical to defeat a mass murdering enemy as Chibnall has done. Just straight up deadpan army men vs a man in a Gargoyle suit.

Even Quality Street has that hard dry toffee in amongst the good stuff. And so it is with Advent Calendars. :D

I like the toffees. It's the purple one with hazelnuts I can't stand!

It works out quite nicely as mrs msc likes the purple ones and hates toffee.

The purple ones are the best. I'd eat a whole tin of just those.

I like the purple ones too, though that purple one Costa Latte is an abomination, though I guess that's what I get for matching my food and drink to my outfit.
