Young team won't realise how much this guy was on TV back in the day, made Romesh Ranganathan look like Daniel Kitson.

Was he as unbearably unfunny as Romesh?

So sad. I've been binging the UK Whose Line games recently and it's sad to know Tony isn't here anymore.

Over Christmas my mum mentioned him thinking he was already dead, I think having mixed him up with John Sessions, she'll probably be quite confused when she finds out.

I've always confused the two as well. No real idea why - maybe the style and the similarity of shows? Dunno.

For the past few years I've struggled to remember which was the one that had died (I knew one of them had and one not) and normally get it straight after a couple of minutes in my head. That particular problem resolved now of course, sadly.

Never had much time for John Sessions as a stand up it was always a little self satisfied but he was a good actor. He was absolutely perfectly cast as Doctor Prunesquallor in Gormenghast and was very good as a cross dressing actor in the Kenneth Branagh film In The Bleak Midwinter.

Whereas with Tony Slattery in scripted comedy I always felt he was in danger of falling off it always looked barely contained mania but his improv was superb

Use to love him on WLIIA in the golden age of that show, and his work with Richard Vranch.
