Obviously there are some which haven't been mentioned as they played on the records, but haven't been included in the headline act on the list. For example, Mike Peters, bassist with the John Barry Seven. Problem with some of them is nailing down a line-up.

Amazed you remain so cheerful with what I would eventually term a millstone - "Ye gods, there's another one dead!" :D

There were 110 names on the 2020 list. Just 71 names on the one above. I'm going to have to Google through the acts when I get an opportunity in the new year and have a proper dig on social media, because it seems to me that we've no doubt missed a few off radar types.

Nick Kamen, died 4 May,  had a couple of hits.

Not much of a pop career pre-1980s!

Plenty of pop stars dead after 1979 - still 50s folk living, life is not guaranteed.

Noddy wants the original Slades to unite for one last gig, the legends slot at Glasto - it'd be awesome, but I'd bet against it ever happening. Won't bore you with the ins and outs but a couple of decades ago I had dealings with the varied management of the original quartet, you spoke to the managers because the four didn't easily speak to each other, and that was before Dave fired Don a couple  of years back

I'm amazed that they're all still around tbh.

Yeah, it’s nice that Noddy’s said that, but absolutely no chance of it happening I don’t think.

Updated for the death of Rosa Lee Hawkins.

Died from surgical complications it seems. Weirdly neither sister ever married. They lived together and stated they were "married to showbiz". Rosa did have a son and grandchildren though.

Only Barbara Ann Hawkins left now.

NB: Some mystery around Howie Johnson. Many sources state he was born in 1934, others say 1938. Most agree he died in 1988, some say 1987. Nobody seems to know the cause and I can't find any trace of him on Ancestry. Someone claiming to be his daughter here under the surname of Trujillo, but again this turns up nothing in the records.

Updated the entry for The Ventures following the death of Don Wilson, aged 88. He was also a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Now, the question is, is short-lived drummer Skip Moore still with us?

Don Wilson was the last founding member of The Ventures.

I know that's what people are saying on social media but it doesn't satisfy my curiosity to know of Skip Moore's fate. He only drummed on their first release, got paid $25 and agreed to take no royalties, then left the group immediately. There is no mention of him after 1960. Given that the other 4 mentioned above were all born mid-1930s, Skip Moore could realistically still be alive.

Sorry for being a pillock, I've been out all day with my pal (you'd better believe it) had a few sups and I got a wee bit emotional (because he's a real dead ringer for love).

I'll be sober tomorrow.

Thanks @Death Impends, I've updated both the 60s and 70s entry for The Union Gap.

Sad news. As you said, they were one of the few bands of that era still holding out with a full living lineup.

... And what a tune Young Girl is.
