gcreptile 10,987 Posted June 18 Maybe he is occupying his family by literally dying right now. Another stroke, a coma, his breath is flat, the heartbeat barely perceptible. Bev Stohl has twitter in one hand, Chomsky's arm in the other. We might be knowing more soon.
drol 12,013 Posted June 18 1. The Jacobine has removed the obituary tag 2. All the other sources started from The Jacobine I'd say not dead at the moment.
markb4 902 Posted June 18 This reminds me of the hours of speculation we endured prior to Queen Elizabeth's official death announcement.
jimbean1121 238 Posted June 18 Let's face it. Chomsky is 95 and had a stroke almost 1 year ago exactly. Like even if he's not dead at this hour, im confident he probably will be by midnight at his health. As far as im concerned, he's still in the hospital and anything can happen, hence why i said too early to call.

diego 1,993 Posted June 18 Rumors are getting stronger and stronger, Twitter of the Podemos party (Spain), also mourning his death, as well as another Brazilian website, but still nothing from a major journalistic source Podemos no X: "Hoy despedimos a Noam Chomsky, un gigante del pensamiento y la lucha social. Sus ideas seguirán inspirando a quienes buscamos un mundo más justo y solidario. Que descanse en paz. https://t.co/NgklmXmac2" / X Noam Chomsky (1928-2024) | Esquerda

drol 12,013 Posted June 18 Corriere della Sera, La Tercera and other major left wing outlets are running with it. But there is no direct confirmation. And at the same time no direct denial, which should be there at this point.
