Most of them during a 10 year period during which she was shagging Tim Rice, the exception in that run of R & LW musicals being Phantom of the Opera, where the lead went to a hitherto unknown Sarah Brightman, who Andrew Lloyd Webber had 'discovered'. time 8,611 Posted March 7, 2023 Nari Contractor, former captain of the India Cricket team, is 89 today. He played 31 tests in a career cut short by a life-threatening injury when hit on the back of the head by a ball from West Indies' Charlie Griffith during a tour match against Barbados. He suffered a fractured skull, causing a blood clot, which temporarily paralysed him from the waist down, and required two surgeries to remove, during which several players, including the West Indies captain Frank Worrall, donated blood. He returned to playing first-class cricket, but was never again selected for his country, the selectors unwilling to risk what might happen should he get hit again.
