Dutchmen who know his noise often call him ''James Overlast'', after the Dutch word for nuisance.
He's still alive and put out an album 3 years ago. I had a glance at his discography, I'm amazed at how much he's churned out.
My uncle Henk owned more than a dozen of his records and wasn't afraid to use them. Mind that this was in the 70s. As a matter of fact, Last's output was popular enough in the Netherlands that he made an LP especially for the Dutch market.
It contains Dutch folk tunes strangled potpourri style.
