Success at a cost of psychological problems not faced up to earlier, leading to erratic and risky behaviours in 40s. Who'd be a rich, talented superstar, eh? Can we come up with a better, and likely more accurate, subtitle than 'golfer' please? All kinds of puns available for this particular pussy hound. And a further decline of his life after his professional career is inevitable, like Boris Becker here in Germany, or Björn Borg, or Matti Nykänen. The open question to me is whether he is going to appear on Reality TV within the next 10 years. Depends how much money he needs.
Salmon Mousse 473 Posted February 24, 2021 Given Woods' history, it was disappointing to hear the sheriff say in his press conference that blood would not be taken for toxicology. Guess cars just roll themselves violently, in California, when a celebrity is behind the wheel. This actually speaks to why this thread may have some legitimacy: everyone enables him. When he destroyed his own car in Florida while all pilled up and was subsequently arrested the sports media was quick to let bygones be bygones as soon as his PR team released a form-letter apology. Do not recall anything resembling real apology, for his actions, ever crossing his lips. Nobody in the golf world held him accountable for completely blowing off Arnold Palmer's memorial service after he spent the days before getting busted up at the Ryder Cup. Hell, you're not even allowed to ask about that. The protective PR bubble in which he's been allowed to live has been his downfall. 5

YoungWillz 21,205 Posted April 7, 2022 People are out playing the Masters. Shots are actually being played. And all we are getting is the constant toadying tributes to Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. I'll predict right now, Tiger will not complete 72 holes and Rory will not win. Now fucking get on with covering the game, Sky Golf.

Paul McGinley must be in a quandary - whose arse to poke his tongue into first, Tiger or Rory? I’m surprised Sky don’t just rename it The Tiger and Rory (masters) because, whether they’re top or bottom of the leaderboard, virtually every shot of theirs will be shown. If, God forbid, the likes of Min Woo Lee or Takumi Kanaya were to triumph, they may deign to show the winning putt.
JQW 288 Posted April 7, 2022 The organisers of the Masters also have some fairly odd rules regarding TV coverage, which restricts what footage broadcasters can show.
harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy 1,704 Posted February 17, 2023 He's only gone and made all the wimmin of the world apoplectic with his 'crude tampon prank', but it's unclear at present whether this will to a life-threatening incident for our wayward hero. I wonder if he bought it himself or got a flunky to secrete it in his golf bag for precisely such a moment? The way of the world boggles my mind in so many ways these days, it surely does.
