Drol has taken the noble route of requesting a charitable donation as a prize and the beneficiaries are Britain's largest charity in the food bank sector. I'm thinking if enough people started enough bespoke dead pools we could solve the hunger crisis - or maybe not!

So, we've still got 20 of the talent pool standing after 13 days, right?

Like this Conservative politician who - near enough - promised his own immenent demise to dead poolers

Less than three months after he said an emotional farewell indicating he'd got about one month left.

Tbh, I'd not looked at this thread for a while - have you just snagged runner up spot?

Based on quick googling, it seems so, but I may have missed something

Aye, well, either way - we had ONE hit during the 21 days the pool is supposed to run, despite the dead pooling elite presenting their best picks - medical science continues to confound our best efforts eh?

We'll keep paying attention until the podium is full. My current pick Ethel Caterham is rapidly approaching her 113th birthday. It's a nice summer morning down south, she's likely out jogging.

Actually, the article I posted was published on Saturday and it says Nigel Taylor died last week (i.e. between 13th and 19th of June), but can't find the exact date

EDIT: According to this, the death was announced on the 14th of June. https://www.mendiphillsaonb.org.uk/2022/06/14/death-of-nigel-taylor-announced/

So, at the earliest still a week later than our winning pick - no probs.

Gifting Bibliogryphon a bronze on the podium - well done that dead pooler.

Both my successes have depended on getting in quick with the flavour of the month.

I did feel a bit bad about picking Deborah James as she would not be my normal sort of pick but Sir Anthony Sher was absolutely someone who would have been on my radar
