maryportfuncity 10,642 Posted December 14, 2022 I took over the role of MC'ing the Deathrace at a time when people were quiet and not bothering to submit teams, the incoming business was minimal and everything seemed calm with a clear set of rules and the odd grimly funny bit of form studying getting posted on the site. I could kid myself that I was in charge and actually managing something. Now the flood of teams has massively increased, picks are pegging out and requiring replacement by substitutes and - frankly - I've discovered after 44 days I'm not up to the job because you end up having to take on board that there are more opinions in the world than your own and more ways of doing things than simply enforcing a bunch of rules and expecting everyone else to shut up and follow them. Some people even want to negotiate, that is the final straw for me.
