Because there is no thread for Vietnam war vets yet (surprisingly) and the Medal of Honor recipients I'm mentioning here right now all served in Vietnam and not Korea, I have to give the update here.

So Roger Donlon being the immortal that he is, attended another event just last month and I found a short video clip of him at that event. His Parkinson's looks to be worse than ever, hands constantly trembling through the video and it seems like he's barely able to move and talk at this point. I also managed to find somewhere that recipient Jose Rodela is now frail and suffering from dementia and heart disease so you might want keep an eye out there. Clarence Sasser has become frailer too and isn't able to walk without mobility aids.

Well, this tweet from August is claiming that Roger Donlon is at the end of this life. Considering Donlon has been suffering from end-stage Parkinson's for at least four years and is in very poor health I could very well believe that statement, however it's October and Donlon is still alive 2 months after the tweet was posted so clearly he's among the immortals now.

Tom Lehrer will be 96 next year. Expect (and hope) he'll live to 105 but still

American actress Julie Sommars is a potential name to consider for 2024. But would she get a BBC Obit?

Rarely known outside the US, yet famously played Matlock's love interest, Julie March. Wheelchair bound and unrecognisable as of 2018.

So clearly you don't do much research then? A simple Wikipedia list here mentions at least 20 living politicians older than your supposed oldest politician pick, who isn't even a centenarian mind you. And that's just for the living ones.

Apparently I didn’t haha.

Now with that - all those other ones will croak and my original pick will out live then all.

Thank you for correcting me on this.
Retract my statement above.

I would not be shocked if they die in 2023 or 2024:

Genevieve de Fontenay

Alexandre Arcady

Robert Duvall

Robert Badinter

Jacques Delord

Not that it matters as apart from Duvall none of the others would be competing for the main DL but Jacques Delord died back in June 2006.

I don’t really believe he is a 2024 possibility but he doesn’t have his own thread and I simply wanted to highlight that……

Richard Curtis has married his partner of 33 years. I’m always suspicious when this happens. He has also (in recent weeks) been expressing some regrets concerning his most popular films (fat jokes for example).

Barbara Barrie has been suffering from incurable lung cancer for the past decade

If so, the 2024 DL is right for her, provided she qualifies fame-wise.

1)That's not cancer, it's IDF. Read well.

2)The article is from fucking 2014.

Unfortunately decent new posters are vanishingly rare nowadays.

No offence to you either but you posted a Wiki link to a list consisting mostly of dead people and/or people who no sod knows.

A good post is one that is entertaining, informative, original, pertinent and/or interesting. You scored 0/5.

I was just thinking of the score at the end of next year. There is four on there and a hit is a hit.

Not every post has to be one of those above listed.

if it did I would assume no one would be conversing.

I don’t know them either.
