The left will always sabotage itself wherever possible. The only difference this time is the right has done it even more spectacularly (although they were beat even without Reform I think).

Shapps listing all his jobs like it's a badge of honour that they move him around every 6 months.  What exactly has he achieved in any of these roles? He's trumpeting that his biggest achievement is an increase in defence spending - pretty sure that was Putin's doing actually Sebastian.

Have a lot of time for Burnham but no way could Labour take a chance and leave Shaeen in place. Can't assume you're going to get a big majority so that your not having to realy on  someone like her for anything

Emily Maitlis talking about Clacton, saying we're all waiting for the count there. C'mon, it's after the watershed, no need to be coy.

I mean fucking hell, what will it take to teach people the lesson of tactical voting? Was it worth splitting the vote like that so you could keep Iain Dumping Shit?

I had to. And happy I did, see above.

But people are stupid, see even further above.

And some candidates are even more stupid than that it seems, even though they really, really, should know better. It's dumb enough to vote what you want instead of tactically when you're dealing with FPTP,  it beggars belief the narcissism required to actually stand knowing you'll lose and fuck it for others of a vaguel similar persuasion.

Not just in IDS's seat has a split vote helped the Tories, in Leicester East the Tories GAINED it from Labour because not one but two former Labour MPs guilty of separate offences that got them expelled from the party stood as independents. Perhaps Labour should pursue improving MP's standards hard to their own benefit, as it might prevent such a sabotage like this.

I think Jeremy Corbyn's won, judging by the microphone-destroying banshee screams when his result was announced.
