Youth in Asia 1,087 Posted August 21, 2023 I'm not sure about the statistics but this is basically an all white LBTQ team isn't it? No wonder the guardian has been massively promoting it.

You're mixing up men's football and women's football, which are two separate sports. The men's team hasn't won anything since 1966 (except in junior age groups like U20 and U17). The women's team win a lot as there isn't much competition outside 5-6 teams.
RIP Wee Jum 1,559 Posted August 22, 2023 Forget Oliver Kahn, Gianluigi Buffon, Iker Cassillas, Peter Schmeichel etc etc How Mary Earps confirmed her status as world's best goalkeeper. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66567155 And Engurland wonder why other countries HATE there national team. Toast 16,141 Posted August 29, 2023 Unpopular opinion no doubt, but I think the reaction to the Rubiales kiss is ridiculous. Way to suck all the joy of out of your achievement. People need to remove the sticks from their arses. It looked like a moment of pure elation. Not an assault, and not sexual. They were mouth to mouth for a split second. If that had been me, now or when younger, I would just laugh it off and see it for what it was, just a spontaneous expression of delight and congratulation. He's apologised so let it go. Would he have kissed a male player like that? Quite possibly, I'm pretty sure I've seen similar during sporting victory celebrations. 2
ladyfiona 2,588 Posted August 29, 2023 While I think kiss was unwanted. I think things have been blown out of proportion. Spain have not been able to enjoy their win because all people talk about is another man (in a woman's tournament). In French and Spanish customs for example you greet each other with kiss with both cheeks. He just got overexcited in a moment of joy. However, I also heard he was doing/saying things in the locker, so...
