Derby Dead Pool 2024

Personally with a 20 point deficit and a bunch of shared picks with Octopus and Banana I'm starting to really regret dropping Draper and Tony Lloyd in late December now!

Here's a Benjamin Luxon QO: https://uk.news.yahoo.com/legendary-cornish-opera-singer-benjamin-151622763.html

It came before Edna's. Do with that information what you will.

Ah, my view is when the QO is posted. Not everybody's view I'll grant you, and it won't really matter.

In terms of fame, let's go with Edna. I think milestones are for more famous celebs.

Carter lives still.... can he make it to be hit #300?

Watch as #300 is fittingly DI-y. Carter could fit that bill. Maybe Johnny Gilbert.

The "Reaper has a twisted sense of humor" one would be Scott Thorson.

Although Barr was worth less points than Burrow, Irwin, Draper and Doherty, arguably it was the biggest gain overall due to just 1 other of the top 25 picking her (20 point gain, compared to 13 for Burrow and 12 for the other three).... If this makes sense?

I completely understand.  There is certainly a range where a pick that isn't a unique, but with a low number of picks has value to move you significantly more than you'd expect in the rankings, despite being a lower scoring hit.  As a rough estimate it is from 3 - 30 picks, just at the low end of the D40.

This year, a hit of Doherty (157 picks, 12 points) only moved me up the ranks by 3 places, but Newhart (31 picks, 8 points) was a change of rank +14!

It would appear a QO for Ken Eastham is forthcoming from the Telegraph. I was able to find a version already on PressReader through a search of his name. I just can't access it:

https://www.pressreader.com/search?query=Ken Eastham&in=ALL&orderBy=Relevance&searchFor=Articles

Edit: QO for Ken Eastham: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/obituaries/2024/07/31/ken-eastham-rambo-tendency-mp-labour-manchester/

Well that's the main reason I moved Brown from main team to theme team as i didnt fancy QO chances.

Still, Craig Shakespeare, also an unique pick, did QO

When Hamas confirm he’s dead. Right now they’re denying it and only Israel are saying he’s dead.

To quote from the DDP rules - "Terrorist organisation members are included but there must be official verification of when they died from both sides of the conflict (i.e. “The West” and the terrorists themselves)."

So, to answer the question, it will be as soon as there are reports that do not begin "Israel says". If you know of one, let me know (see it, say it, sorted, as someone once said)!

What if they find…parts of him… but Hamas suggest it’s just a scratch…

We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Finally updated again after a month... just need to update Lists of the Lost/Missed, and Theme Team League now. Put the LotL/M names on the front page for now will work on moving them to the appropriate pages tomorrow. I checked the past few pages of this thread as well as my forum like activity, let me know if I missed any others.

Poor old Ken Palmer!

Nice to see that three of my picks, all on my separate three teams, stick together at the top, and thanks for the mention on Fakir's Obit.

The "how much I care about them" obit length discrepancies are becoming so blatant it's a no brainer I'm passing on the reins  Praying with every bone in my body the next five months aren't a cricket apocalypse
