DevonDeathTrip 2,358 Posted April 27 Jerry O'Donnell, one of my picks and the stadium announcer for the Dow Diamond, home of the Great Lakes Loons baseball team.
gcreptile 10,970 Posted April 28 I was a little sceptical about allowing Jerry O'Donnell at first, but if you piece it all together, he's had a couple of claims to fame that add up to something, announcer of the Midland, Michigan football team (the Great Lakes Loons), popular advertising voice on the radio, having had his own radio shows, and writing special interest books. DDT punches the ticket for the next round: DevonDeathTrip 11-0 SirCreep
gcreptile 10,970 Posted April 30 Last day to submit your teams! Most are still missing. One thing, there currently is a tie between @GuyFromFuture and @Hell. I just tried to do something on mobile with no real success. So I have to do the tie-break after today. Meaning, you might both want to submit a team, but one will have to go after the tie-break. Perhaps 1,423 Posted April 30 Team sent. I had no time to do any research to find any dying not mentioned on the forum this time around, so it may be where I bow out!

I remember taking a late late lead with a US college football coach but even then that was with two days to go instead of a few hours.
gcreptile 10,970 Posted April 30 Oh, indeed, a bitter defeat for DeathByArsenic, but Arghton seems to make his way through this competition with hospitalised centenarians, greek acting couples, and, in this case, Indian founders of obscure monastic orders: DeathByArsenic 3-4 arghton

Heh... well... the coins flip as soon as you open the page, and I didn't want to mess it up, especially as the result was so definite. Btw, this was also the reason I couldn't do the flip on mobile, because the coins just kept flipping and I couldn't take the screenshot without the result already changed.... I was probably extremely clumsy with this... but one of these "mobile results", was also heads by 5-0. No chance in/for Hell.

So when reading this news - https://torontosun.com/news/national/wrongfully-convicted-n-b-man-dies-four-months-after-exoneration - it is with great surprise it's actually the other half of the wrongfully jailed duo - Walter Gillespie - that's died. Can't see Mailman making 2025.
gcreptile 10,970 Posted May 7 It does look like those of you who submitted their teams with a warning that there weren't many super good picks around were right.... Starting on friday, I will have another absence, this time for a whole week. But it will not interfere with any deadlines. If you ask me, we can expect 2-3 hits in that time.

gcreptile 10,970 Posted May 15 I am aware that Alice Munro is a hit. Official update will happen next saturday. Greetings from Bukhara.
gcreptile 10,970 Posted May 18 Alright, let's do this. Rudy Moreno was a stand-up comedian and behind-the-scenes figure in the L.A. area, which then also means, Hollywood. They call him "the godfather of Latino comedy" for his mentoring of young talent and who am I to criticize that classification. He didn't quite make it to Wikipedia levels of fame (yet?). He had a sepsis and a stroke a couple of weeks ago and succumbed after some weeks of suffering. max_bossetti scores a unique hit. Alice Munro was another unique hit, this time for GuyFromFuture who has managed to always sneak in some well-known old/frail person who becomes a hit for him. Munro herself doesn't need a lot of description as she got the universal coverage a literature Nobel Prize winner usually receives. She was a master of the short story. She had been silent for a couple of years and was a deadpooling staple for a while. Silvio Luiz scores a QO here, for example: https://777score.com/news/football/910336-legendary-brazilian-sports-broadcaster-silvio-luiz-dies-at-89. He was a Brazilian soccer commentator who never used the word "goal" to describe what was happening. Well, in media you need something to stand out.... ...which he also did by suffering a stroke on air. Arghton's ambulance chasing pays off greatly. Now, wannamaker also has a dead person on their team as influencer "Ty among animals" has died according to https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/name/tyler-powell-obituary?id=55041379 But I cannot see an obit! I'll keep looking, as I am just barely getting back to normal business after my trip. But so far, we have this: Perhaps 0-4 GuyFromFuture arghton 4-0 wannamaker Banana 0-0 msc DevonDeathTrip 0-4 max_bossetti
