Get me a chill pill mate, I'm burning up here....

Matt James of Mashd N Kutcher has multiple myeloma, and doesn't sound too optimistic about his chances in interviews I've seen.

Matt James to return to the stage, seems to be slowly recovering.. https://purplesneakers.tv/news/mashd-n-kutcher-issues-health-update-reveals-new-album-on-the-way/IQGfNTQ3Njk/26-04-24

Italo disco should probably go in here? Anyway, Pino D'Angio, Italian musical icon who sang probably the genre's finest hour - "Ma Quale Idea" - dead at 71

Like Messrs McFadden & Whitehead, there’s some stoppin’ him now. Haha, his page claims he came up with it independently; I’m sure M&W’s lawyers might raise an eyebrow.

German DJ Tomcraft, who hit UK #1 in 2003 with "Loneliness", has died on July 15 at age 49.

The cause of death is not yet known.

Just moving DJ Tomcraft's death report here. ;)

We are putting these folk in this thread, leaving the Disc Jockeys thread free for platter spinners on the radio.

Disco queen Evelyn Thomas, prominent voice on dance hits like "High Energy" dies at 70:

"High Energy" is just a copy of "Relax" if you listen to the beat. Have there ever been any legal disputes?

Yes, the "influence" is there. Curious how "High Energy" was the founder of the hi-NRG "genre", but not Relax.

IIRC there was a spat between Horn and Levine over the beat, Evelyn Thomas being the earlier to be released. I think it ended up that Levine had stolen it from somewhere else, which is also where Horn got it, and that was an end to it. I could be misremembering though.

The usual nonsense back at that time: sampling, "this is a journey into sound" etc etc. Lot of it going about.
