Ah yes, technically, you're right. You'd have had Sal Bando as a third unique die in January 2023, which would have made you third finisher, ahead of GCReptile. Although, technically, he was your 4th unique, as Osamu Watanabe had already died, but we didn't know! Unlucky, either way, the perils of the QO.

We are now in the checking phase two categories have been really hard to verify - Ivor Novello and Batman. I have tried hard to be consistent and accurate but I admit I may have made some mistakes. 

 

If any one wishes to challenge any of the entries (some people have successfully defended my challenges to eligibility during verification) then please do so (with evidence) and if I have made the mistake I will swap the offending pick for their sub. If no sub is in place they will be asked to pick again but they will not be able to pick an already selected unique pick

I think I understood what happened here was that I rejected one of your initial picks and promoted a sub but when Bob Newhart died I had forgotten about the pick rejection and just reused your sub. However I can verify you did send me Thomas Pynchon's name as an additional sub which I should have used

Erm, I'm hoping it isn't. Can you not win by getting one from each? It doesn't matter if even four of those include someone else so long as the fifth doesn't include that same person (i.e shared but with somebody else)?

 

I confess that at least half the reason I'm hoping is that I'm so bad at this I was happy I had only one unique because it meant at least I wasn't the only one picking some no-hoper in the other 4 categories.

There are three ways to win :

• All five hits in one category
• One hit in each category
• Three unique hits

I can't win via the third path because I have no uniques. But it does mean that the people I've selected are popular choices which hopefully means more likely to pop their clogs, which maybe increases my chances of winning via one of the other ways.

Glad to get Rob Paulsen as a unique in the Batman category. One of the great voice actors of my childhood, and a man who has battled cancer in the past. Plus the deterioration in his appearance over recent years is pretty heavy:
