Cowboy Ronnie 78 Posted August 31, 2005 Noted Nonagenarians and Centenarians some possible ideas for future Deathlists. None famous, or even famous famous, but I'd be surprised to find this kind of carry-on outside of the good ole US of A. Actually, if you click on the years, there are quite a few famous people listed. 1915 for instance saw John Profumo, Harry Morgan and Norman Wisdom arrive. Could be some useful info in there. Godot 149 Posted December 2, 2005 Only one name on this one but I thought it quite sad that Mr Pastry's grave is so neglected. He used to make me smile. I was going to suggest him but found he was well dead. http://www.whirligig-tv.co.uk/tv/children/other/mrpastry.htm I think you'll find the Whirligig news section more helpful regarding deaths. I see Waldo Maguire has died, he was the first Ulsterman to be a Controller at the BBC
Godot 149 Posted December 3, 2005 More useful in a general sense but I wanted to make a specific point about Mr Pastry. It's a bit sad that he seems to have been forgotten. A few famous names on there for 2005 missed in the list. I see Cyril Fletcher, the world's least funny entertainer went this year.
Cerberus 302 Posted December 3, 2005 I see Cyril Fletcher, the world's least funny entertainer went this year. Oh I don't know about that. Jim Davidson and Freddie Starr, two "funnymen" who I watch (under duress) with a face of granite. Seldom seen on TV nowadays, thankfully.
Godot 149 Posted December 3, 2005 I agree the world would probabaly be better off without them. Starr will probabaly go before Davidson. I don't know why, but I have always thought there was a strong resemblance between Starr and Peter Stringfellow, another candidate I would put forward for an "early bath" before his three score years and ten.
