widnes14 3 Posted June 25, 2005 The royals confuse me. I can seriously picture Lizzie goin after Charles and Camilla go of old age, and Harry gos in some stunt or joyriding accident. I also think the nana out of the royle family tv show should be on the list- (if not already on or dead) And the new pope!

football_fan 42 Posted June 26, 2005 My guess is that Prince Phillip will be the next member of the Royal family to die. The Queen will probably live another 10 - 15 years.
Cerberus 304 Posted June 27, 2005 Has Philip been listed before? If not, perhaps next year he should make his debut. We need a distinguished person to succeed the late Pope. He seems in reasonably good health at the moment but he is 85 next year - that's living on borrowed time in my book. Incidentally I believe that, after the Queen Mum, he's the longest-lived royal consort.
time 8,682 Posted March 6, 2014 The Queen's cousin Katherine Bowes-Lyon has died aged 87. She had learning difficulties (as did her sister) and was hidden away in a home for decades. They were reported in the 1963 edition of Burke's peerage as having died in 1940 and 1961.

Gooseberry Crumble 5,372 Posted April 21, 2018 I'm trying to spot some of the less senior royals on BBC one at the Queen's birthday concert right now to see if I can figure anything out about their general health etc! In terms of who I'm interested in so far I've only caught a glimpse of the Queens cousin Princess Alexandra. Not sure if the duke of Kent and Prince Michael of Kent and their spouses are there. Ditto the Gloucesters.
gcreptile 11,094 Posted September 26, 2020 The Duke of Kent might have 2-3 years left, in my opinion, by judging from this video:

Ulitzer95 12,912 Posted September 30, 2020 Great list @arghton! Seems we're at the stage where there's nobody in the Royal family, close or extended, older than the Queen and Philip. Not family but worth noting that Dame Frances Campbell-Preston, the Queen Mother's right hand lady and confident, is still alive. Here's a 102nd birthday interview from earlier this month.

The Guinness Book of Records (now known as Guinness World Records) many years ago (when it was full of interesting facts such as the last person alive to have a parent born in the eighteenth century or the last surviving veteran of the Boer War) once put, in an attempt at levity, that no peers or royalty had ever become a centurion due possibly to their drafty piles (ie castles etc). Now thanks to their deluxe health care royal, noble and titled centurions are appearing every year.
