charon 4,943 Posted September 11, 2012 The most interesting Irishman tennis award would go to this Wimbeldon runner up from the early days... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vere_St._Leger_Goold , what a life he lived and died. Favourite quote from someones signature on a forum (here maybe???) "And let that be a lesson to you all. Nobody beats Vitas Gerulaitis 17 times in a row." Assassinating Roger Federer doesn't seem to be a very good threat. He always comes across quite well and difficult to dislike in contrast to some other tennis players I will not mention. But they are hoping it is only an oral threat!

CaptainChorizo 1,977 Posted February 24, 2013 I saw this posted on a tennis message board and thought its relevant . http://www.vancouver...2465/story.html 22 year old Rebecca Marino of Canada who was ranked as high 38 in 2011 announced she was retiring Wed then the next day a story breaks that she has severe depression and it was aggrivated by twitter commments and such. A lot of people are speculating she might be suicidal or something so she might be a potential pick in the future for the more adventerous risk takers in Deathpools. It's a weird case cause most diehard tennis followers barely know who she was but the stress of "fame" was too much on her.
