maryportfuncity 10,646 Posted November 8, 2005 It's a very oldie but goodie but still those stories about Catherine the great and an interesting death involving a horse persist in some quarters. Several myths about the circumstances of her death have probably originated soon after. A common urban myth states that Catherine died as a result of her voracious sexual appetite while attempting sexual intercourse with a stallion - supposedly the harness broke and she was crushed. There is no truth to this fable[1]. This myth is rather common even at modern times and most perpetrators of it fail to realize (or consciously ignore) that she died at the age of 67. This myth coexists with another, less physically impossible but also totally unsubstantiated myth, that Catherine did engage in sexual relationship with a stallion, although at a younger age. Another myth that she died on a toilet, particularly stating that the seat broke under her and she suffered injuries, which is only true in small part. Shortly before her death she collapsed from stroke, in a water closet room, but after that she died being cared for in her bed.

The Yeti 14 Posted December 7, 2005 It's a very oldie but goodie but still those stories about Catherine the great and an interesting death involving a horse persist in some quarters. Another oldie worth repeating "Rasputin was led to the cellar and fed poisoned cakes and wine, but these did not affect him. Yusupovsky then shot the monk at point blank range and Rasputin collapsed on the floor. When Yusupov went to tell his fellow conspirators the good news, they sent him back to make sure he had done the job. On returning to inspect the body, Grigory Rasputin suddenly regained consciousness and started to throttle poor Yusupov, who needless to say was completely scared out of his wits. The Prince fled the cellar, screaming for help; when they returned Rasputin was gone. They found him in the yard crawling towards the gate and proceeded to shoot and bludgeon him. They then bound him and tossed him into the river. When Rasputin's body was found, his bonds were broken and his lungs were filled with water, showing that he didn't actually die until he was submerged in the frozen waters." Boudicca 702 Posted December 7, 2005 "Thrill seeker" dies on crane Two men had scaled the security fence around a construction site at the University of Colorado campus about 3 a.m. Tuesday, with temperatures in the 20s and just hours after the area was hit with hurricane-force gusts. Young died from multiple blunt-force injuries, according to Boulder County Coroner Tom Faure. Faure said toxicology reports that would show whether alcohol was involved will not be available until next week. I could hazard a guess
Dr Hackenslash 25 Posted January 24, 2006 (edited) Who has died in the funniest, or strangest way? I can't think of any at the moment, so I thought I'd throw the floor open. Windsor 2,233 Posted January 24, 2006 I've been well informed by an honourable member that King George II died on a toilet. And there was that kinky consevative MP.....say have we been here before?
Dr Hackenslash 25 Posted January 24, 2006 True, true. And was it Edward II who was killed by having a tree trunk shoved up his arse and then a red-hot poker inside that. Not that that's funny - more of a normal Friday night. Elvis died on the toilet, of course. But no-one has actually in flagrante delicto in the public eye for a while. Except Mick Hutchence, I suppose.

Anything involving lavatory humour will be appreciated. A great-uncle of mine died in 1944. On the day of his funeral his home town Enschede was mistakenly bombed by the USAF. The hearse took a full hit. Several mourners were killed. regards, Hein
Banshees Scream 110 Posted January 24, 2006 My great grandfather was kicked in the head by a horse. And my friend Jim Morrison died in a bathtub William Frawley - "I Love Lucy" had a fatal heart attack after he came out of a movie theater Edgar Allen Poe died in a gutter Owen Heart "Wrestler" died live on PPV. At the time I ordered many of these WWF events and oddly it was that one that I did not order. Brandon Lee the son of the great "Bruce Lee' was killed by a prop pistol on the set of "The Crow" Singer Marc Bolan died in a car crash. Not that unusual but look at his quote on the bottom of his IMDB page! http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0092647/ I could come up with several more but that's all for now. Dr Hackenslash 25 Posted January 24, 2006 Go for it. AND THE WINNER IS.... Japan Times-April 16, 1997 "The government must crack down on this disgusting craze of 'Pumping'", a spokesman for the Nakhon Ratchasima hospital told reporters. "If this perversion catches on, it will destroy the cream of Thailand's manhood." He was speaking after the remains of 13 year-old Charnchai Puanmuangpak had been rushed into the hospital's emergency room. "Most 'Pumpers' use a standard bicycle pump," he explained, "inserting the nozzle far up their rectum, giving themselves a rush of air, creating a momentary high. This act is a sin against God." It appears that the young Charnchai took it further still. He started using a two-cylinder foot pump, but even that wasn't exciting enough for him, so he boasted to friends that he was going to try the compressed air hose at a nearby gasoline station. They dared him to do it, so, under cover of darkness, he snuck in. Not realizing how powerful the machine was, he inserted the tube deep into his rectum, and placed a coin in the slot. As a result, he died virtually instantly, leaving passers-by still in shock. One woman thought she was watching a twilight fireworks display, and started clapping. "We still haven't located all of him", say the police authorities. "When that quantity of air interacted with the gas in his system, he nearly exploded. It was like an atom bomb went off or something." "Pumping is the devil's pastime, and we must all say no to Satan," Ratchasima concluded. "Inflate your tires by all means, but then hide your bicycle pump where it cannot tempt you." Darwin Awards
Rude Kid 3 Posted January 24, 2006 was it an Aston-Martin? Nothing so glamorous, I'm afraid - Bolan died in a Mini. And let's not forget good old Rod Hull and his TV aerial tomfoolery
Dr Hackenslash 25 Posted January 24, 2006 was it an Aston-Martin? Nothing so glamorous, I'm afraid - Bolan died in a Mini. And let's not forget good old Rod Hull and his TV aerial tomfoolery Thank you, thank you. Good old Rod Hull, native of the Isle of Sheppey. He died while trying to get illegal emu porn by altering his tv aerial on his roof. Apparently he was holding the aerial with one hand while stroking himself with the other. Or it might have been the Champions League football - but that's too boring. Emu should make a comeback as a solo-artist, he was great.
