Cadie 11 Posted January 6, 2018 Are planes female? I take a lot of them as opposed to boats which I know are generally referred to as such. I'd never considered referring to them as "she". Takeoffs seem to suggest otherwise but I'm happy to be corrected

Cadie 11 Posted January 6, 2018 I'm going to regret asking for an exegesis aren't I? I'm now assuming power without responsibility, too concerned with cosmetics (easyJet are the worst for this) and other things which will make me nervous

msc 18,436 Posted January 6, 2018 All this talk of planes reminds me (I lie, I saw him on TV last night) of Richard Wyatt, former news presenter from the 70s and 80s. Only 69 now, but arguably done remarkably well to reach that, given that in 1976 a plane crashed into him while presenting a piece to camera! Apparently instead of dying like a normal human, the plane wound up taking more serious damage. Incident's on youtube.

Cadie 11 Posted January 6, 2018 I was kind of referring to the sudden acceleration and power but that extremely graphic image has clarified it thank you although Cat may disagree.

Similar age (68 in January) and walked into a propeller in 1983 losing an arm. Had been a good enough golfer to be runner up in both the Open and the Masters. Cat O'Falk 3,290 Posted January 6, 2018 Aeroplanes (like ships), carry human souls, keeping them safe from the external environment; therefore they have to be female.
charon 4,943 Posted January 6, 2018 Ships, like females, are full of seamen. *old joke but who cares. And God bless our Photoshop King lfn. He'd have been quicker just lifting a Flesh Gordon image...

After battling Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport in the morning, though, I may change my mind. I'll be gone for two weeks but I'll be around. Admit it, you would all miss me terribly otherwise. AA 2228, if anyone cares enough to track me. CarolAnn's airborne at 0932 hrs CST and on her way to Sacramento. https://www.flightradar24.com/AAL2228/100c5144 Edit: On the ground at 1105 hrs PST. 3

charon 4,943 Posted January 6, 2018 There are boats. There are planes. There are trains. All female. There is no such thing as "trans". That's like a fucktard from, say, Milton Keynes, saying he is American. You may treat him as such, but it does not change the fact he is from Milton Keynes. 1
