Captain Oates 21 Posted July 6, 2007 Here's a poem that may very well originate from the Melly household. (In the form of a link so as to bypass DL's naughty-word filter!) R.I.P. George Melly
Lord Fellatio Nelson 6,221 Posted July 6, 2007 His death didnt exactly fire off a wave of tributes did it. " Any holes a goal" Melly who couldnt sing, couldnt dance and had the dress sense of Helen Keller has left the Earth with an obituary slightly smaller than Jeremy Beadles withered hand. Poor old sod. Octopus of Odstock 2,206 Posted November 1, 2007 On November 7th, at 9pm, on BBC4, there will be a programme on George Melly's final weeks. More Here Although concentrating on dementia, and what sufferers go through (and if this makes people understand more about it, then excellent, as I feel a wider audience should generally appreciate more about it & how it affects people's lives), it will, of course, feature heavily on the star that was George. Considering how good, thought-provoking & sobering the Ross Davidson documentary was, post-death, I will certainly tune in for this one.
YoungWillz 21,086 Posted January 10, 2023 Death Notice for Margaret-Anne Stuart (nee Du Cane), dowager Viscountess of Findhorn, who prior to her marriage but during Melly's second marriage to Diana, was one of Melly's many lovers: http://announcements.telegraph.co.uk/deaths/261752/stuart I think Diana Melly, the author, is still alive, unless anyone knows better.
