His family released a statement saying it was pancreatic cancer. He died a day before his 71st birthday.

Mildly interesting DL-related trivia is that he was Dick Van Dyke's IRL gym pal, hence why DVD appeared on Days as Hogestyn's dad last year.

Days of Our Lives tapes around six to seven months in advance. His character left town for awhile in mid-June. When he came back a few months later, a lot of people noticed that he looked a lot more frail. He has only been on sparingly since then.

For those not familiar with the show, the impact from this would be comparable to if Adam Woodyatt from EastEnders died unexpectedly.

Cheryl Murray, Coronation Street's Suzie Birchall in the 70s and 80s, has a memorial website saying she died September 2023, nothing anywhere else, but it's happened before with a lot of other UK soap stars.

Bit of a blow to the 2 DDP teams that picked her this year.

Me too . Genuinely  thought she would be like John Savident,  Geoff Hinsliff etc with their death  being reported pretty much straight away.

It's happened before with the likes of Andy Devine, Ernst Walder and Paula Tilbrook.

Although I'm inclined to believe it's true, there is still the possibility that it's a load of bull as it is currently the only one source.

Wikipedia  seems to have accepted  it as true so I would  be surprised if it isn't.  I do wonder about  Elizabeth Kelly AKA  Aunt Nellie from EastEnders who if alive would be 103.  Could she have died off  radar too?

Do we have to discuss her every single month?

Yes she was diagnosed with MS in the 90s, having had symptoms since her time on Corrie.

Whilst I'm here, @Master Obit has confirmed via PM that the website is accurate and that she is dead.

Hypothetically it could be...

There's no need to delete anything, I have nothing to hide, if anything this whole situation has been quite humorous. I went by real name for my first 2(ish) years on this site, so it really doesn't matter to me that folk here know who I am or that I have a twitter account almost entirely dedicated to Coronation Street.

Okey dokey - as long as I haven't unintentionally caused any significant problems/issues or caused offence/hurt.
