maryportfuncity 10,662 Posted April 18, 2010 I used to like him on That's Life. Cyril Fletcher ! I know I was being silly, it amuses me! Amuses me too, particularly since the odd-oder was like some old MP and the MP is more like some perenniel television 'character'.

Windsor 2,233 Posted September 3, 2010 I hope you all realise that these two deaths in quick succession are down to me predicting that we would only have one more death in 2010 (that being Zsa Zsa Gabor). I'm no Mystic Meg...

That's a healthy "approval rating".

Spade_Cooley 9,562 Posted September 3, 2010 I take it he couldn't stomach Cameron... Dunno about that. Being as Big Cyril wanted a return of the death penalty and spent most of the late 70s trying to encourage Ted Heath to either defect to the Liberals or set up a new centrist party, with the Con/Dem Nation, you could say Smith died happy. Or at least as happy as he could have been without a chip cob in his hand.
Spade_Cooley 9,562 Posted September 3, 2010 And surely Giulio Andreotti has to be the next political figure to die. How the fuck can a man have a stroke on live television at the age of 91 and still be pottering about 18 months later? Presumably Satan's not finalised his induction schedule yet. I've sent out emails and everything saying he was a miss! Not sure if this is significant, but (assuming it was DDP) I didn't get an update. I sent out three batches of emails before I went to bed last night and planned to send the other three this morning. I'll explain the reasons for my cock up in the email... Bloody database. Bloody mobiles. Bloody Google... EDIT: On checking, the database is fine, it's when you add titles to names that it decides to jiggle it around. I may well consider removing 'Sirs' and 'Dames' and what not so as not be confusing to me and others...
