Phantom 2,531 Posted April 24, 2006 Michael Foot 1913-2006 r.i.p Iain, We're all fairly confident that 2006 could well be his final year, hence the reason why he's on the DL. But I hate to break the news to you that Michael Foot is still alive
maryportfuncity 10,639 Posted April 24, 2006 Iain Is there any chance you could - like - give us a clue as to the nature of this inside information you've got? Are you on friendly terms with a Foot, as in a member of his family, or some medical type trying to stabilise his medication. Or did you just fancy throwing this little curve ball in to get the DL stirred up a bit?

Handrejka 1,903 Posted April 24, 2006 Googling Michael Foot in the cyber cafe got me into a bit of trouble. Somebody saw what I was looking at and I thought I was a foot fetishist. It's all iain's fault
MyBrainHurts2 4 Posted April 25, 2006 Well.....do you have a foot fetish?
Handrejka 1,903 Posted April 25, 2006 No I don't. i have one or two fetishes but feet are not amongst them
Brinsworth House Baiter 12 Posted April 25, 2006 No I don't. i have one or two fetishes but feet are not amongst them So that rules out crushing grapes, or other squelchy substances between your toes. I would ask what the one or two fetishes are, but I'm finding guessing is so much more fun...
maryportfuncity 10,639 Posted April 26, 2006 Iain Given your record in forecasting imminent death, just an idea, like. How about posting here and confirming that Michael Foot is healthy and going to be around for months yet. That'll kill him for sure!
Phantom 2,531 Posted April 26, 2006 Iain Given your record in forecasting imminent death, just an idea, like. How about posting here and confirming that Michael Foot is healthy and going to be around for months yet. That'll kill him for sure! Easier said than done if he has my luck. I've put people on my lists that were supposedly on their last legs and sure enough they survive for a good couple more years. The ones that I've often been told are in good health suddenly drop dead
maryportfuncity 10,639 Posted April 26, 2006 Works in real life - ie away from celebs - too. I was talking to the editor of a local paper and suggesting he makes it a policy to photograph every couple married 50 years and everyone celebrating 100th birthday. I pointed out to him the pictures would double for the obits that would surely soon follow. He told me the bastards have a habit of living longer than expected and moving away before they die. Guest iain Posted April 30, 2006 actually i was half right about predicting Michael Foots death-turns out the MP who represented Michael Foots old parliamenmtary constituency,Peter Law, died of cancer on tuesday.I just got a bit mixed up thats all! PS do you like my new avatar-its the latest intake of inmates to Strangeways prison (Clarke Prescott Blair and Hewitt)

If this is the truth I respect your prediction. = Mistaking one for the other - but in a reasonable distance of reality makes the grade in my book. I had a similar experience around the time of the demise of "Grandpa Munster" Al Lewis. I dreamt that a deathlister would die the next day though in the dream I couldn't clearly see who's name was in the spotlight. I said Brooke Astor which I regret since I knew the death was a few spots down instead of being one of the higher selections.

maryportfuncity 10,639 Posted May 2, 2006 Iain man, yer clutching at straws. The current state of the Labour party might make him think of getting involved, mumbling like a few of the other old timers about the mistake of leaving socialism behind etc etc. Face it, Foot lives, we continue to curse the death drought and the DL top fifty rotate very slowly compared to the all action jibe-fest that is the DL Forum. Charles Haughey on the other hand....now there's a set of predictions likely to bear fruit soonish. I've got the Irish wheeler-dealer in my DDP, cos - frankly - cancer is cancer whilst rumours are just rumours, sort of thing.

maryportfuncity 10,639 Posted May 5, 2006 His thread is bouncing high hereabouts. The information - though conflicting - is at least definite. Methinks it's time for a face off Foot vs Haughey. My money is on the Mick to bite the dust first. How about the rest on yers?

Guest iain Posted May 8, 2006 Haughey will go first. That old codger Foot will probably make it to his birthday in july and become the longest living former party leader in the UK,despite the fact he was one of the most shambolic leaders in history.I am losing hope that anyone on the list wil die this year
