One bit of Info that im sure won't come out is the story of his arrest in the 70s. The army tied him to his own carbomb and made him defuse it!

Now that'd concentrate a man's mind on political options, class!

Wikipedia and various specialist forums are saying that pedal steel guitar legend Sneaky Pete Kleinow has died of Alzheimers. Haven't found a proper obit as of yet but if he is dead that's a huge loss to country-rock.

OK, CP, I take your point! Hopefully I'm on safe ground with this one:

Iwao Takamoto animator who "designed and named the beloved Great Dane Scooby-Doo and many other cartoon characters" has died aged 81

he's also responsible for bringing us Muttley who I think is worth a mention - I always liked Muttley but think he fell in with the wrong crowd.

Such a great loss and a very talented animator. One of the true masters before the use of cgi clouded the talents of animation.

I bought "Lady and The Tramp" for my daughter on dvd last month and she loves that movie.

England's oldest surviving Test cricketer Norman "Mandy" Mitchell-Innes has died aged 92:

Anyone know who takes the "oldest surviving" mantle now?

Ken Cranston (20.10.17) takes the mantle, and is also England's oldest living Test captain. He is the tenth oldest living Test cricketer, according to this list..

Hate to quote myself, but Ken Cranston's short reign is over after less than a fortnight. Step up Arthur McIntyre (14.05.18).

Former Jerusalem Mayor Theodor "Teddy" Kollek has passed away at 95:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...7010200139.html

Why do all the wrong Israelis keep dying?

Sharon or Shamir next please...

That I could live with if either Sharon or Shamir were to go next. I'm having the same problem with NASCAR drivers, I picked Parsons and then Bobby Hamilton & Dan Shaver both die :o

Can't see any of them getting UK obits.

As long as Parsons gets any obit, I still get a point

I forgot to get my entry in for the DDP as I was out most of the weekend before the new year, so hopefully next year I'll get my selections in on time

I would love that movie if I didn't deal daily with the Cocker Spaniel fallout from the 50s and 60s, partially fueled by that movie.

However, I did adore Takamoto's other work.
