Godot 149 Posted February 16, 2007 I'm thinking Deathlistsweep is the real McCoy. The more I read, the more I'm warming to him. If you look at his site you see there are bugger all players and some have the same name which fits with relatives. It ain't going to work because the best bets have already been taken. All and all it has the makings of a glorious failure which is very very Deathlist counter culture sort of culture sort of.... sorry have drunk lots of wine and wiskey tonight. . ..Perhaps the mods should change his name to Deathlistsooty. Lard Bazaar 3,799 Posted February 16, 2007 I admit to knowing nothing, but whenever or wherever someone posts 'I am a lawyer....' it makes me groan out loud. Sorry.
Cowboy Ronnie 78 Posted February 16, 2007 Craig are you Chinese by any chance? Wang Zhendong promised investors returns of up to 60% if they put money into the fictitious ant-breeding project, the court heard. '..ere mate, you give me 1000 yen, i'll give you back 600! up for it? and i'll throw in a few giant ants..' ok, all dodgy sounding news stories from China (remember the one about the man who was fined because his kid's yelling supposedly caused hundreds of chickens to die) are from now on going to be classified as "bullshit" until actual proof of their validity. One cannot raise $390 million in respect of an ant farm, nor can one dupe 10,000 people over it, be they peasants or otherwise. File under: This Never Happened. Back to Tony Wilson, I'm seriously considering having a punt on him in the Deathlistsweep. But only if first prize will be paid in ants.
Tuber Mirum 125 Posted February 16, 2007 Aye, he seems a nice enough chap, quite apologetic really. I'm still not convinced the site is legal. Not because of gaming license issues, but because of the betting on death aspect. Isn't it illegal in the UK to have 3rd party life insurance? That's the sort of thing I mean. maryportfuncity 10,584 Posted July 11, 2007 I used to say some people make money and some make history - which is very funny until you find you can't afford to keep yourself alive. So he's as sharp as ever with the one-liners, then. Put it this way: Anthony H Wilson may just be a blessing of immense proportions to those voiceless people battling to be heard in the hopelessly complicated lottery of the current NHS. An avowed Socialist, the man and his disease may prove to be a hefty nightmare for Gordon Brown, or summat.
themaninblack 2,112 Posted July 11, 2007 NHS refuse Tony Wilson cancer treatment. Nice to see the Happy Mondays have chipped in, they know a thing or two about pharmaceuticals.... £3,500...a bit pricey, but there'll be benefits and that to keep him going. Possibly a hasty WDP choice methinks...
maryportfuncity 10,584 Posted July 11, 2007 Yeah, you'd think Ryder and his mates would know a dealer who could ship 'em Wilson's gear a mite cheaper than three and a half clicks a month! Incidentally, does he get 28 days of February a few quid cheaper?

Shaun's too busy fighting his own anti-anti-smoking campaign: http://www.nme.com/news/happy-mondays/29629 Yes, that is Shaun on the right with Bez. So much for smoking to keep your weight down! He should team up will fellow renegades Joe Jackson and Slash from G&R. Ironically, I suspect Slash might be paying a visit to his home town of Smoke on Trent in the next month: http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30100-1274659,00.html

Grim Reaper 185 Posted July 24, 2007 Shaun's too busy fighting his own anti-anti-smoking campaign: http://www.nme.com/news/happy-mondays/29629 I think the NME's dug out an old picture of Shaun there - I saw him a little while ago on TV in looking stunningly healthy - a lesson to us all I thought - although quite what that lesson I haven't quite worked out yet Frankly the day Shaun Ryder comes to your rescue is a day you know things have got bad - Good luck TW
Grim Reaper 185 Posted August 10, 2007 Just as I thought - Just weeks after Shaun helps out TW passes away http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manchester/6941392.stm Sad news - I always thought he was a good guy
harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy 1,679 Posted August 10, 2007 That is indeed sad, he was part of the fabric of late 20th century British music, even though he could be a right twat at times. No TW=no Factory/Hacienda etc etc.
