msc 18,298 Posted April 18, 2016 I'm hoping he'll be able to see in New year by hook or crook, or else I'm in danger of turning "damn, that's annoying" into a catchphrase.
maryportfuncity 10,481 Posted April 19, 2016 Nick Blackwell wakey wakey time: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/35962221 BBC showing "more to follow" at the moment. Eubank Jr and Blackwell have both been over social media admiring each other's fighting spirit. Blackwell appears back in the room and that bleed was on his skull (not brain). Does anyone smarter than me know whether he could box again?

maryportfuncity 10,481 Posted April 19, 2016 BBC now on Nick Blackwell story No mention of rocket science, mind: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/36080289 He wants to stay in the sport "in some capacity" I'll leave the space below blank in case anyone wants to quote this post and drop a cruel suggestion about that "capacity"

Sorry, that was a very quick dip into DL while at work dealing with dead old people. Blackwell has said that he cannot 'put his friends, family or himself through that again' or words to that effect, but that he will still be involved in the boxing world somehow. I think, even though it's likely he could become bodily physically fit again (apart from his brain), to put his health at risk would be foolhardy. I think boxing is foolhardy the first time around, let alone after you've had the living shit kicked out of you already.

Maybe not this year due to my picking him.

Spade_Cooley 9,403 Posted May 20, 2016 Big fan of how the poster doesn't actually mention him attending and just uses "A Tribute to...", so it can go ahead if he gets 86'd within the next month.

charon 4,942 Posted June 9, 2016 Errol's nephew is on the fringe if the Oirish squad for the fitba, and his wee insight means he is definitely on the clock. Now Errol is in a fight that he can’t win. “He’s struggling with (lung) cancer at the minute,” Cyrus said. “He’s 51, only a young fella. “They’ve only given him a year. It’s spread quite a few times and he’s just trying to battle on.” All depends on when they gave him the year , I suppose... http://www.irishmirror.ie/sport/soccer/euro-2016-cyrus-christie-sporting-8130211
