It's a shame that they'll both be overlooked by the plethora of deaths this weekend...

You missed the most interesting tidbit.
He became a part of league history, when he snapped the ball that Tom Dempsey
kicked (with half a foot) on the final play of a 19–17 win, for an NFL record 63-yard field goal.

I didn't say it was forgotten information, asshole.  I said it was missed.  It was the most interesting information gleaned from READING THE OBIT.   Try it, you might like it.

I am so sorry that my diction can not satisfy your demands.

Whether it was forgotten or missed, your post was a complete bore.

University of Colorado Buffalos to retire Salaam's #19 jersey  on Oct 28.  Looks like Wahlroos will miss that event.

For decades, Purdue University has billed itself the "Cradle of Quarterbacks."  No coach did more to maintain that reputation than Joe Tiller. The man who guided Drew Brees as a Boilermaker and was the school's winningest football coach, died Saturday at age 74. He died at home of natural causes in Buffalo, Wyo.

Ben Hawkins, player for the Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns, has died at 73.

That means we lost Tommy Hawkins (LA Lakers announcer) in August, and Connie Hawkins (NBA great) and Ben Hawkins (NFL) in one week early October.
Might I suggest that Hersey and Michael Hawkins (NBA) and Brent, Andrew, Lavelle and Josh Hawkins (NFL) watch their backs!

Half Time at the Cowboys and 49ers game, Dwight Clark is being honoured.  Is it maybe because he only has a few months left ?
