Guest David Posted January 17, 2012 The Sound of Music. It's the only movie that still brings me - a tough guy from Glasgow - to sobbing. It's so sweet and romantic. Plus, Julie Andrews was so gorgeous.I love that movie.

Windsor 2,233 Posted March 7, 2012 When someone smugly tells you about a subject adding at the end "but you wouldn't know anything about that", and you're able to reply smugly with "I've written a 9,000 word essay about it (and probably know more about it than you do)". Lard Bazaar 3,799 Posted March 16, 2012 That lovely feeling when the greasy, letchy, arrogant,bone-fucking-idle, incompetent, bullshitting, absolute TWAT you've had to work with for the last nine months leaves to go to a six month job he thinks is much more important than yours, but is actually nothing more than a 'filling in forms' job, and the great feeling of satisfaction when, at lunchtime, he says 'are you coming for lunch' and I say 'no, I'm not'. Oh, and by the way - the reason you had to go to McDonald's for your leaving lunch, and not to the usual lovely cafe we go to - NOBODY COULD BE ARSED TO ARRANGE IT BECAUSE NOBODY FUCKING LIKES YOU. Byeeeeeee!

Windsor 2,233 Posted June 13, 2012 I was scrolling through the 'Fraserburgh Herald' terms and conditions for their website when I found this: Swear Words: The Banned List This is a selection of some of the words on the Banned List. Please note that all derivatives of the following words are also currently included on the banned word list: b*****k(s) – testicle c**t – vagina f**k – to have sex j*sm – ejaculated semen (also spelt j*zm) t**t – another word for vagina w**k – masturbate Words with Dual Meanings These are a number of words which have both acceptable and unacceptable meanings. b*****d – illegitimate person (forbidden in the context of an insult, allowed as a term for an illegitimate person) p**s – urinate (banned in the context of urination and insult, but allowed as a slang term for being angry or drunk) p***k – a penis, a pricking feeling (not to be used as a substitute for penis nor as an insult, allowable in the context of pins) Made me laugh anyway... Guest David Posted June 29, 2012 The lovely little girl who appeared on Britain's Got Talent in 2009 - Hollie Steele. What an amazing voice for a kid of ten! A lovely little girl and massively talented. We'll sure see her in the future. Good luck, Hollie! You made me cry when you sang Edelweiss.

A lovely little girl and massively talented. We'll sure see her in the future. Good luck, Hollie! You made me cry when you sang Edelweiss. Is she the one that cried when she forgot the words and then had another go and still lost and is probably now undergoing therapy with her local Children's Mental Health Crisis Team because she feels she is completely worthless and runs razor blades up and down her legs to try and cut out all the badness inside her? Yeh, we'll see her in the future all right, as a headline in the Daily Mail - 'Teen Talent Contest Loser Hit By Train Because Of Twattish Parenting'.

Lady Grendel 139 Posted July 10, 2012 Everyone that knows me is aware I am a huge fan of the singer Fish, especially in his Marillion days, I have seen the man many times live, both with Marillion and solo. My name on here is a reflection of that, Grendel is one of early Marillion's classic songs, I simply stuck Lady in front of it to form my DL name. In April Scottish Borders Council announced they were revamping the Market Square in Galashiels and would be etching some of the lyrics from Kayleigh into the stonework, seemingly this is the market square Fish refers to in the Marillion song Kayleigh and other Galashiels memories are referred to in other parts of the song, I had never realised this but that's another story. I commented at the time to my friends that I would love it if they asked Fish to open it and lo and behold this article appeared on the BBC South Scotland website today. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-south-scotland-18781184 I work 5 minutes away from the Square and will definitely be in attendance next Tuesday, I know it's not something many people will get excited about but I am, to meet the rock hero from my teenage (and later) years is just fantastic . our Sydney 11 Posted July 11, 2012 Hello Lady Gendel If you can get close enough to meet him ( and I think it likley he is a very aproachable chap) do so, he is a very nice man indeed. I met him once (spent about 4 hours in his company in all) about 20 years ago through my wife's work and was struck by just how charming and down to earth he was. Personally can't stand his music but he really is one of the better people on this planet, make the effort to say hello it will be worth it . Best regards Syd

Sadly things are up in the air at the moment regarding Tuesday, I have a very ill wee dog, if he gets through the next 2 days then I will be relieved. Personally can't stand his music but he really is one of the better people on this planet, make the effort to say hello it will be worth it . Best regards Syd I did manage to go and the rain miraculously stayed off. Scottish Borders Council were their usually inept selves with a total Mickey Mouse sound system, Fish had to give up on the microphone and just talk very loudly in the end. He was on good form and afterwards was happy to pose for pictures and chat to the fans,it took me about 5 minutes to pluck up the courage to ask for a photo with him, but he obliged and I now have an updated picture of myself with him - the last one was taken almost 22 years to the day and I can certainly say we have both aged. Even with 3 inch heels on I still don't reach his shoulder, that man is tall! Here is a link to The Southern Reporter's video of the day, I know most of you won't be interested but there are a couple of other Marillion/Fish fans on the DL (Hein and Teddy, spring to mind), it's the most accurate report I have seen of the days proceedings, I do appear in it for about 7 seconds, back and side view only, but I am not saying where http://www.thesouthernreporter.co.uk/lifestyle/life/galashiels-relief-road-opened-and-fish-humbled-by-kayleigh-lyrics-in-stone-1-2416398

harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy 1,689 Posted July 17, 2012 Chapeau to my favourite sports event of this, and every, year - the Tour de France. This time around we've had Tackgate, Froomegate, multiple broken bones in pile-ups and, at the risk of speaking too soon and mod willing, the first British winner. For those who equate cycling with drying paint it's a travelogue with spectacular scenery, and for those who resent the worldwide ubiquity of the English language, we get interviews in funny European tongues. Feel the 'burns!
Lady Grendel 139 Posted July 17, 2012 How's the little dog, Lady G? He's doing ok Toast.. He's been off colour for a few weeks and the vet has tried different things but couldn't pinpoint the problem. After blood tests showed up as being perfectly normal - seemingly the white cell count can tell them if there is something major wrong but they came back clear - the vet eventually decided it was his throat/chest area, he does have terrible ear problems too. On Friday they knocked him out to X-Ray the chest and clean his teeth and ears unfortunately they nearly lost him, he turned 'blue' while they tried to intubate him, he required a steroid injection and a bit of juggling to get a breathing tube down his throat. They found that he has a very swollen larynx and it's obstructing his airway. He's a Chorkie and they are notorious for breathing problems and too narrow airways. Sometime in the 1990's an idiot thought it was a good idea to breed a Yorkshire Terrier with a Chihuahua to feed the fad for 'designer dogs', while I love my wee boy, I could happily kill that person. Pico is not a young boy and he came to me when his owner died and no-one would take him in, he's massively inbred, he has splayed front feet and looks like a wee ginger seal, plus he has hip problems. The vet saw him this morning and is pleased with his progress but still concerned about the larynx, We are releived as on Friday night we just didn't know if he would make it through the weekend. Anyway, he bounced back on Saturday night and has had insomnia ever since, he's been bouncing about squeaking his toys and keeping me from sleep ever since! It may be the steroids, but he seems ok and he is eating like a small horse but that's nothing new. My fear is throat cancer, I lost a dog to that 12 years ago and it was the most awful thing I have ever gone through. Anyway the 'Thug' is responding well and enjoying life, for which I am very grateful even if my bank balance is down nearly £500!

Lady Grendel 139 Posted July 22, 2012 The Health Lottery, I know it's a mugs game and I have only played it a handful of times, 3 weeks ago I won £50 for getting 3 numbers right for a £1 stake. They have changed the winnings now it's only £20 for 3 numbers but having forked out nearly £300 in vets bills this last 3 weeks I thought I'd give it another go yesterday. Stuck my £1 on and I have just checked my ticket, I have 4 numbers. £250 is now winging it's way to Ms Grendel. Not a bad return for my money considering I have only put on about 7 tickets in 4 months at a cost of £1 each .
