That'll sure be a should I or shouldn't I gambit pick before Jan 1. Could be the next Miguel Ferrer(ie dead man walking) or Pat Rice(recovers fully)
Death Impends 7,955 Posted November 12, 2017 Several of his former teammates tweeting about it now. Seems certain he has cancer but might not be in hospice?

gcreptile 10,963 Posted November 12, 2017 Hmm, apparently not in hospice, but was in the US for chemo. Some say pancreatic cancer, but it's not confirmed....
Sean 6,311 Posted November 13, 2017 Come on Liam less than 50 days to hang on for.
FixedBusiness 407 Posted November 13, 2017 Hmm, just wondering if Liam would get a DDP-or other deadpool-qualifying obit? Thanks alot
gcreptile 10,963 Posted November 13, 2017 Yes, it's a European thing. Every active European football player at the top level will obit everywhere. In their native countries even the ones at the 2nd or 3rd level will obit. And Les Mutrie. Bonus points for being young and having cancer. Franz Beckenbauer had the 2nd heart surgery this year last weekend, by the way. This time, it was a routine procedure. Also, I'm currently thinking about the Les Mutrie of 2018. They say, history doesn't repeat itself but it rhymes.
charon 4,943 Posted November 13, 2017 He'll obit no bother. Heard its stage 4, but don't know if that true. Very decent player who should have did much better than he ended up doing.
msc 18,436 Posted November 13, 2017 ^ One of the greatest European goals ever imo, that. About 24 passes right up the field led to it. Most of which the videos only cut out. Thought at the time Miller would be a star but he left Celtic too early and got lost in the shuffle. 3 hours ago, gcreptile said: Also, I'm currently thinking about the Les Mutrie of 2018. Already got a Guardian mention, so there should be no doubts about him getting a QO.
msc 18,436 Posted November 13, 2017 Just now, Joey Russ said: Already got a Guardian mention, so there should be no doubts about him getting a QO. That was in reference to "Les Mutrie", not Liam Miller. Miller is, to use SC's phrase, a slam dunk obit.

maryportfuncity 10,639 Posted November 13, 2017 Re obitable footy cases - I'm guessing I wasn't the only one watching Alan Shearer investigating brain damage and heading the ball on BBC 1 last night. So, the clearly ill and going downhill Matt Tees may now be on our radar - but is he obitable? Going on the Wiki page I'd say marginal DDP (and a hope based largely on the late-life fame as a dementia poster boy and/or regional BBC reporting of a Grimsby, Charlton or Luton legend of old). Deathrace and others who admit local papers, mind...likely a result His Wiki page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Tees
Deathbysnoosnoo 28 Posted November 13, 2017 Might get a mention is the Scottish papers, doubtful in the national ones. Would happen if he goes quick after the documentary as it's fresh and people would use it to push for more funding into research similar to the NFL one. msc 18,436 Posted November 14, 2017 Re Miller Going by MON's look/words in the video here, doesn't have long, imo. Reminds me of Adams talking about McGuinness in January.

Oddly, for a Scots player he was a journeyman a long way from home by the looks of things. Even his declining year was at Boston (then nowhere near the league club they briefly became) in the mid seventies
Deathbysnoosnoo 28 Posted November 14, 2017 Possibly. I've not seen the film yet but it sounds like it was pretty interesting and if he was in it he would have a little more exposure than the standard Scots journeyman
