Makes me wonder how different the world would be if this semi-obscure military leader was never born.

I didn't feel the time pass, which is already a good sign for such a long movie. Ariana is surprisingly funny and Cynthia's performance is quite captivating. There are some heavy-handed moments, especially when they address social issues but it could have been worse. A good American production but not an unforgettable one either. I do recommend watching it in theater though as I think you'd loose something watching it on a little screen. Quite surprised to see that his is a two-part film which I didn't know about, but it plays on the cliffhanger and I'll probably go see the second part now. Maybe what was missing from the Broadway musical was the special effects and the set, which are well executed here and quite appealing.
