Edward Kennedy/Curse of the Kennedys

Recommended Posts

He will not live when his next reelection in 2012 comes up. I have no problem with a Democrat that drops dead who has been a Socialist for forty plus years. The Senate needs new blood!

Who would you have fill his shoes? A crazy one-eyed hillbilly Republican?

I'm saving no problems with a death for the likes of Fred Phelps.

I'd settle for someone who doesn't get elected just because his last name is Kennedy.

Still better than someone who gets elected because his / her last name is Bush.

Neither choice is good. My point is the mindless selection based on someone's family name rather than their political agenda, intellect or some sort of rational selection criteria is disappointing.

GW Bush is a crook who puts Richard Nixon into a shadow.

But I know what you mean.

Edward Kennedy says his cancer is in remission and he is going back to work.

January convulsions and now he's baaaa-aacck. Not your typical Kennedy.

If I were him (which of course I am not) I would just retire and enjoy the last months or years of my life on the beach or fishing or just goofing around. Not in that dreaded Capitol Building with the rest of the blowhards.

I don't know if this is significant, but Ted didn't attend his sister's funeral last week.

Perhaps he was scared he would steal the show - just like at Obama's inauguration lunch...

I think it is a sign he didn't show for his sister's funeral, he and his sister Jean are the only living siblings of JFK.

Perhaps it is possible that the brain surgery he underwent last week got most or all of the tumor which is why

he has survived longer than probably anyone expected and the chemotherapy and radiation treatments are just

precautionary.

This article suggests that the man may be dead this side of Christmas.

Doesn't look too good for poor Ted.

Here's some video of Ted right after his sister's death. It's mostly all about Eunice Kennedy Shriver, but you can see Ted Kennedy about 15 seconds in being driven in a car. He looks TERRIBLE. His mouth just hangs open, like Ronnie Biggs. I don't think it will be long now.

From a New York Times article last month:

"But conversations with friends and colleagues about Mr. Kennedy’s condition now typically include a weary acceptance of the inevitable: that his cancer — whose survival time for people similarly afflicted is typically measured in months, not years, from diagnosis — is taking a mounting toll. The “constant phone calls” that his staff and fellow senators reported over the winter have fallen off; people who have seen him say Mr. Kennedy comprehends things well but struggles to speak at times."

Fun fact: Robert Novak and Ted Kennedy shared the same brain surgeon, Dr. Allan H. Friedman, and you all know how much good that did Mr. Novak.

Summer 2009 so far has been the summer of death, not so much for us although we have had fairly good success but rather just as far as famous deaths in general. Just think of all the famous people that have croaked since the summer solstice.

Summer of death indeed. From David Carradine to Robert Novak, the celebrities who passed away this summer were noteworthy, not the least of which was Michael Jackson.

As for Ted Kennedy -- stick a fork in him, he's done. I doubt he'll survive by the end of this year. In fact, I predict that 2009 will end w/ a bang w/ Ted Kennedy dead by the winter holiday season.

Kennedy leaves behind a mixed legacy, but he has taught us all one powerful lesson -- it is never too late for redemption.

BCAlum, Are you boycotting the Brits?

I was just wondering this since you've had tons of posts on different threads here.

But not one on the thread of the current number one Ronnie Biggs.

And it seems you don't even want to discuss the health situation of the great train robber.

Tell me, why not?

He's a dimwitted cock whose only capabilities lie in repeating lists of dead celebrities and stacking shelves in Walmart.

Besides, talking about big scary robbers makes him wet the bed.
