Significant: Jeff Beck.

Others: Tom Verlaine, Lisa Marie Presley, Bobby Hull, David Crosby.

February

Notable: Fred La Marmotte, Canada’s version of the Groundhog Day groundhog, dies hours before his big prediction February 2nd.

Significant: Burt Bacharach.

Others: Cindy Williams, Raquel Welch, Richard Belzer, Ricou Browning, Don Shane (local news presenter)

March

Notable: Jack Holder, the last survivor of the USS Arizona (Pearl Harbor).

Significant: (Real answer) **Dick Fosbury, (My answer) Robert Haimer (‘Fish Heads’)The world needs more Robert Haimers.

Others: Wayne Shorter, Robert Blake, Otis Taylor, Fuzzy Haskins, Jerry Green (local sports journalist).

**No one is going to say Fosbury. I’m not sure how anyone defines ‘significant’ if Fosbury isn’t one of the 2 or 3 most significant deaths of the entire year. However, I understand…it’s asking personally significant. Which is why I gave two winners.

For the most significant death of January I give you the man that has helped millions.  Year in, year out.  Not a here today, gone tomorrow arsehole. The man who has made my 20+ years living in a village sanitary. Each year he fixes the 200 year old drainage system which blocks at least once a year. I give you Jim Zockoll. Founder of Dyno-Rod. The most significant January death.

Okay, this is the most 'Murican thing you've ever said, and the bar is higher than a Roman aqueduct.

To me...

January: Personally, Jaakko Valtanen. But out of globally famous ones...Franz Beckenbauer or Zagallo? Not sure if I'm forgetting someone but felt like an incredibly dull month to me who has never been a fan of football.

February: Alexei Navalny.

March: Akira Tokiyama. Dull month #2, I'd not heard of this guy many times before his death but he seemed to have the largest impact on people. I heard of Toby Keith for the first time on the DL Forums.

April: Personally Kaj Chydenius. From the globally famous names, O. J. Simpson.

May: Ebrahim Raisi or Kabosu. Another month that sucked.

June: Donald Sutherland

July: Ismail Haniyeh

August: Alain Delon / Susan Wojcicki. Wojcicki seems to have gotten a lot more media coverage, Delon is an A-list household name but I don't care for movies that much in general.

September: Kris Kristofferson.

October: Personally, Janne Puhakka. Globally, Liam Payne. Honorary most dramatic filmed video of a dying person award goes for Yahya Sinwar.

November: Quincy Jones or something.

December: Nabib al-halfhalfhalfawy. Jokes aside, boring month and nobody worth mentioning has died yet.
