msc 18,450 Posted July 20, 2018 Christ, this is deadlier than being at WrestleMania VII or name checked on a Half Man Half Biscuit album. 1

Gustavo Lezcano played on Miami Sound Machine's Dr Beat and therefore the mash-up must include him. Lezcano died in 2014. @The Quim Reaper, wanna try again? Oh you're having a bloody laugh Will. Not. Give. In.
YoungWillz 21,044 Posted July 20, 2018 Just now, The Quim Reaper said: Oh you're having a bloody laugh Will. Not. Give. In. Well, actually having listened to it, I really can't hear Leczano's harmonica on the mash-up. It is there in the original. So.....what do we think? It's a bit of a push to say he was on the Doctor Pressure number, but he appeared on the original? In order to save any doubt, I suggest we move on and find one that definitely doesn't have a dead person involved.

YoungWillz 21,044 Posted July 20, 2018 So if @Clorox Bleachman is to be believed, it's Now 73? Let's have a look.

I only scored off the people I knew had died. Not like I could tell you about all the past members of 3OH!3.

YoungWillz 21,044 Posted July 20, 2018 Yeah, I am hard pushed to find any deaths amongst that lot. Unless someone's carked it while we've been looking for the winner! 1

msc 18,450 Posted July 25, 2018 So, watching that ABBA comp from BBC4, that particular quartet are all still going. Now, a few years ago, there was a discussion of 60s band with all the members still living. I say a few years ago, The Kinks qualified, and Peter Quaife has since died. 8 years ago according to Google, so yeah, wee while ago. Anyhow, as the 1970s are to now what the 60s were back then - time wise - what other 70s bands claim a complete living cast then? My mind runs blank, and if folk on here don't know something about music it ain't worth knowing... EDIT - The Police, obv. Jumping to a second right before pressing send. YoungWillz 21,044 Posted July 25, 2018 Madness had their first hit in the 70s. Brian and Michael? I'm sure there's loads more - Brotherhood of Man, without looking?
Joey Russ 7,227 Posted July 25, 2018 Surprisingly Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young are all still alive. EDIT: Started in the 60s technically, but are the only band from the 60s where all members are still alive?
Joey Russ 7,227 Posted July 25, 2018 Talking Heads are another big name with no dead members yet.

All of the classic era Genesis band members are still alive, but the drummer before Phil Collins, John Mayhew, alas isn't still alive anymore...

msc 18,450 Posted July 26, 2018 Seems to be shitloads more than there was for the 60s discussion at the time. Thanks!
