The statement given on his facebook page reads to me like he might have euthanised himself.

That's a heck of a loss with Roy Tucker. Was the bad boy of Ambridge in his youth but grew into a likeable character. Guess he'll move to Birmingham to be with Mike Tucker his Dad I guess?

Whilst listening in again on the Archers omnibus it occurred to me when Christine Barford was mentioned is her original voice actress Pamela Mant still alive? I have done a little research and found nothing.Anyone know the answer?

IMDB is now claiming Pamela Mant died on 13th October 2022 in USA.

Just noticed that Phil Molloy, who plays Will Grundy, has now been on The Archers for 35 years.   That's a fairly brief tenure for an Archers actor, but given he is still only 43 and has stated his intention to stay on the programme "until I die", then he may go on to break all sorts of acting longevity records.

A rare appearance this week from Patricia Greene (93) as Jill in the Archers.

Apparently she is almost completely blind, very deaf and the word is her scene was recorded in the care home where she has lived for some time.

It must be fairly hard to record radio when you are very deaf, let alone nearly blind.

Bert Horrabin is featuring prominently as a silent character at the moment and I would think is going to be killed off shortly.  He used to be played by Martyn Read, who died in 2022.   Apparently he also appeared in something called Star Wars.

She made an appearance a few days ago for Jill's birthday. Voice noticeably weaker and has lost a lot of its character had to rewind to check it was her.Definitely sounds as though she isn't in a studio with the other actors and actresses in her scenes which certainly backs up the idea she has been recording from her care home.

Sad news but what a remarkable long life.

She died just 5 days before her character turned 100.

Odd that Camila didn't get her husband to give her a damehood in the past 2 years, seeing as she is a longstanding fan of the show.

Nonsense. Dames in media and arts have appeared in a wide range of work. Spencer's career was almost entirely limited to a single radio show. Wouldn't have qualified for a Damehood.

Hit #21 for me this year, which is the best "performance" I've had since I started doing Top 50 Lists.  I had a great aunt who lived to be two weeks shy of her 105th birthday, and Ms. Spencer even surpassed that.  That's a damn good run.  RIP.
