I wonder what he book was that he wanted so badly?

Bill Oddie's Guide To Safely Seeking Birds Nests In Trees? It's a shame he never reached it...

There's a lesson for all of us in there...somewhere...possibly.

Wonder if the Stones will die before any of the surviving quartet kick the bucket. Only mention it because there are more reports in the press today about the current tour. Some tickets going on e-bay for one penny last week, a deal with SAGA, (for the benefit of our American posters that's a UK holiday company specialising in older people's holidays), that made a hefty pile of tickets available to their members for half price and - finally - the promotors having to resort to a last minute poster campaign to shift loads of unsold tickets.

If the Stones have to reduce the size of venues because people are ceasing to care and their audience is dying of old age, I reckon they might - like - consider quitting.

83 year old Atlantic Records mogul Ahmet Ertegun is reportedly fighting for his life after suffering a backstage fall as Mick & the boys performed at Bill Clinton's 60th birthday party.

Meanwhile, Ronnie Wood's older brother Art has died of cancer / pneumonia aged 63

Art Wood Ronnie's big brother and a man who had a fleeting musical career of his own has died. Ronnie is devastated, 'tour in jeopardy again,' or summat.

Jagger's dad followed - I think - a spell in the army with a career as a teacher, mainly of PE. Was fit well into old age and to be alive at 95 is doing reasonably well. He's probably got the basic strength to recover from this if - as in this report - his injuries aren't life threatening. I say we have a little side bet style fun pitting the old Jagger against Cliff Richard's dementure ridden mother. A kind of good boy vs bad boys 'who's got the parents with the best constitution' stylee thing.

Mick Jagger is fine. But his 95 year old father isn't doing too well.

In fact, one might conjecture that he's dead.

I think his dad would be disappointed that he only made it to 93 rather than 95

Not that any of this stopped Jagger from getting back on stage mind, and Jagger's the one who calls Rod Stewart tight with money!

...and in other 'Rock and Roll Legends make local news" Bill Wyman has found a 50 pence piece during a metal detector day at Coldingham Priory.

I hope it was a modern one, as Mr Wyman doesn't normally like anything over 15 years old.

Bill (right) and some young girls, last week.

Surely that should read 'most weeks'?

My money is on Keith Richard. He already looks dead anyway.

That little toady Scorsese's no doubt (literally) airbrushed Stones film has been shown to the nobs in Berlin, but I'm still holding out for the somewhat delayed release of Cocksucker Blues. Don't make 'em like that anymore.

The best part is the BBC felt the need to caption this photo with which one was Patti Smith

Patti Smith (right) was among

the guests at Thursday's premiere

Good thing too, otherwise I'd have thought Bill Wyman was crashing the party

An interview with former wildchild and current gardener Anita Pallenberg . She looks more 72 than 62, she's had hip replacements and has hep C, but I wouldn't be rushing to write her obit just yet. Maybe she could start a tribute act with Marianne - Shakespears Granny.

Chiswick's around the corner from me; perhaps I'll go stalk her while she's planting her stalks...

This coming after his wife left him following his shenanigans with a teenage waitress.

I once met him (in a bar suprisingly.) I first thought that i was talking to a badly drawn cartoon character of Ronnie Wood, but then I was a bit pissed too.
