Is Hong Kong/Taiwan actress Shu Tao (Chinese wiki, imdb) still alive? Was very frail in Summer 2012 with diabetes and complications, nothing since as far as I know. Marked living on Chinese wiki, imdb and baike baidu. Would be 99 now. (Long dead or a Zsa Zsa-like living corpse?)

Poisoned?

Quotation from "Master and Margarita" (1929-1940), by Mikhail Bulgakov. Woland's words to Berlioz during their meeting at the Patriarch's Ponds in Moscow:

"- Yes, man is mortal, but that would be half the trouble. The bad thing is that he is sometimes suddenly mortal, that's the trick! ".

Shortly after this meeting, Berlioz died after being hit by a tram.

But if we ask the old Roman question: who benefits? Cui bono?

Turkey and China demonstrate that they want to see Belarus as an independent player. Ukraine is in no hurry to recognise Tikhanovska. Perhaps it is Makiej's long-standing personal connections that have contributed to this position. Only Russia is interested in absorbing Belarus in exchange for oblivion of the blitzcringe in Ukraine.

By the way, Makei's son resigned from the Belarusian Foreign Ministry in 2020   (!)

I wonder if she'll make it into TCM Remembers? There are going to be 150+ contenders this year for what is normally a tribute that contains 70-90 names.

No, seriously.

Apparently discharged and healthy enough to be interviewed but permanently on oxygen now as he had a bad bout of pneumonia following the cocaine overdose

A unique hit for the DDP  if a qualifying obituary emerges.

Fingers crossed!

Errm, those born in the late 1930s are hardly the oldest living actors in Sweden. Below is an up-to-date list of the very oldest to have worked in movies and tv.

The Expert Session of the Coordinating Club of the Russian Free Economic Society (VEO of Russia) on "The Russian Forest: Preserving the Resource Potential" was held in Moscow on 29 September.

During the Expert Session held a presentation of the book of Member of the Federation Council Nikolai Ryzhkov - Chairman of the USSR Council of Ministers (1981-1991) "Anxious Thoughts on the Russian forest", which was published in September this year. The event was attended by leading scientists and experts, heads of public institutions, representatives of state authorities, administrations of constituent entities of the Russian Federation, and the business community.

veorus.ru ecfs.msu.ru freeconomy.ru

There is a video of the event on YouTube lasting 2:26:36. Available to view if you subscribe to the channel. Nikolai Ryzhkov speaks from around 23:30 to 1:12:00 and also inserts lines and answers questions.

It looks very good, it will live up to The Hague, as the forest report also supported Russia's actions in Ukraine.

I just randomly saw the famous Czech TV and voice actress and general celebrity Jirina Bohdalova, while walking around a department store in Prague. She is a big name here and I was surprised to find out she is 91, anyway she seems in fairly good shape and hopefully won't be bothering the scorers for a while yet.

Jiřina Bohdalová hospitalised last month and has been in hospital for more than two weeks now with flu, spinal problems and other stuff. Now slowly improving.

Vyacheslav Bityutsky (02.10.1937-14.12.2022) died in Voronezh. Vyacheslav Bityutsky, a doctoral candidate in technical sciences, worked at an aviation plant, a research institute and the Voronezh Polytechnic. His life, like that of many citizens, took a sharp turn with the beginning of perestroika.

Vyacheslav Bityutsky was one of those Voronezh residents who in the late 1980s initiated excavations in the forests of Dubovka, where thousands of people were shot during the Stalinist repressions. Thanks to his efforts, a memorial area appeared here.
