Phil Collins (And Other Genesis Types)

Recommended Posts

Just a heads up about my ebay sales. Last year I put all my wife's Mike Nesmith and Monkees vinyl on, earlier this year it was my daughter's Yugioh manga and next it will be rare Phil Collins and Genesis 12" singles

Just in case the curse continues :D

You put your wife on Ebay next to your Monkees vinyl?....

...which of them got the best offer? :D

Three remaining members of Genesis sell their group and solo back catalogue. This might be a way for PC to simplify the division of his estate. Cold hard cash is easier to split between the large number of potential claimants rather than intellectual property

Hmm - he says “he’s much more immobile than he used to be” but I get the impression he’s just talking about how Phil has been for a while rather than a new development.

Totally random but thought I'd share. Was copied into this photo earlier today. Charisma Records five-a-side team from just over 50 years ago. Phil Collins in fine shape, the two standing next to him are members of the band Capability Brown, the guy front left is the label's booking agent and the one bottom right is Peter Hammill (still recording aged 75 and obitable). Hammill amazes me tbh, intense and angsty beyond all reason on his best known albums, never thought to see him chipper and cheerful in a team photo. This line-up, apparently, were very effective and won a few games with ease.

Simon Napier Bell has just posted this on Twitter. The write up suggests that Phil is lively, wickedly funny and possibly recording new music

Pictorial evidence does not really support that view

Looks like he's lost a lot of weight based on the loose skin around his arms.

I will be keeping Phil Collins on my shadow death list for 2025 based on that image. I've seen way healthier looking super centenarians.

Napier Bell - btw - is 85 and highly obitable, not that he appears to be offering the points up anytime soon

Looks like he's been spending too much time in that Dali melting clock painting.

Tasteful, hope the makers are paying up and our lads get a few coppers to maintain them in their dotage!

New documentary on him coming out, certainly looks frail but still got his marbles.

Watched that trailer and was immediately drawn to "Dom Famularo, drumming's global ambassador" as a man who clearly had advanced cancer... checked and yes, he died of pancreatic aged 70 in September last year. Must have taken them a while to edit the footage.

Phil Collins was on my shadow death list 2024. I'm giving him a years sabbatical and as he continues to get frailer I may consider his return in 2026.

A mate of mine sent this to me on WhatsApp the other day saying "OMG you'll love this shall we watch it together!?"

To which I responded "No. I think the man's a cunt."
