I found several 1970 players whose deaths weren’t announced on this thread (at least that I know of, I apologize if there’s mistakes) :

 

Swedish Rooney Pettersson has died on 26 September 2022.
He was the backup goalkeeper behind Ronnie Hellström and Sven-Gunnar Larsson and didn’t play any match.

 

Uruguayan Julio Morales died on 14 February 2022 aged 76.

Peruvian Javier Gonzalez died on 11 April 2018 aged 78

His countrymate Orlando De La Torre died on  24 August 2022 aged 78 too

 

Bulgarian Aleksandar Shalamanov died on 25 October 2021 aged 80

 

Moroccan Hedi Dahane died on 13 July 2020 aged 73 or 74

The only elderly ex player I know was there was Brian Dear who is 79 now. Trevor Brooking gave a radio interview  which I haven’t heard yet but I think he might have stayed in England to watch it.

Hurst doesn’t turn up that much to West Ham events so will be surprised if he appears but Brooking is still involved with the club so fair chance he turns up.

Saw Brooking recently at a match (earlier this year) and he's not got any obvious health issues.

Gordon McQueen, unused substitute for Scotland at 1974 and 1978 World Cup, has died aged 70.

At club level he notably played for Leeds and Manchester United.

Alfredo Rojas, who was part of Argentina’s squads for 1958 and 1966 World Cups is dead aged 86.

He only played one match in 1958 and was an unused substitute in 1966.

3 days ago, the 21 June, Guillermo Escalada, who participated with Uruguay at the 1962 FIFA World Cup, has died aged 87. He was an unused substitute as Uruguay was eliminated in the group stage.

Colombian Rolando Serrano died on 13 June 2022 aged 83, he played 2 matches as Colombia was eliminated in the group stage.

 

Swiss Roberto Frigerio died on 9 April 2023 aged 84, he was an unused substitute.

 

Mexican Alfredo Hernández died on 17 January 2003 (!) aged 67, he only played Mexico’s third and last match, as Mexico was eliminated in the group stage.

 

His countrymate Salvador Farfan died on 7 March 2023 aged 90, he was an unused substitute.
