That's a different Ramesh Mehta. This one. It looks like a bot website that has mixed the two of them up.

To be honest, I found this, it the same year but another date of death, maybe the two Ramesh passed in the same month. Plus there is the playwright photo at the end

Edith Renfrow Smith just turned 109. From this article it seems she has spent weeks in hospital in May and also caught COVID there. Of course she is absolutely fine now.

This very scanned letter is on StarTiger and is time/date stamped March 9, 2021.

So you didn't just receive it. Liar, liar. Pants on fire. :flame2:

Anyway, she's dead. I wouldn't have even added her to the list in the first place but you told me she was still alive so I took your word for it.

Not a lot of notable/"notable" 1918 names left. There being a small amount of 1916 notables was mentioned on the last page but I was suprised by how few 1918 names there are:

Only 12 with English wiki pages, 8 of them on the "living centenarians" list:

Silvana Lattmann (8 Nov 1918) Swiss writer

Suprisingly just the first death from my list, and it's been five months. That's a long time for 10+ 105-year-olds.

Miye Ota is still alive, living in Santa Barbara, California!

Miye Ota actually made an appearance on this video two months ago:

0:53 onwards. Apparently she had a bad fall and a spinal fracture years ago and has been in 24/7 care for atleast three or four years ago now according to an old gofundme.

Widely celebrated, but could not find any photo of him on his birthday, which may be not a good sign.

Min Jingde (ca. 20-29? Jan 1915) Chinese military officer.

Yu Te-Hsin (17 Mar 1915) Taiwan. Again arguable if he's notable- oldest person to paraglide tandem validated by Guinness World Records

Valdemar Prukner (2 May 1915) Croatian-German. Arguably notable - World's oldest violinist, or one of the oldest violinists.

Constantin Nastase (3 Jun 1915) Romanian Major General, promoted from Brig. Gen in 2022.

Jupira Brasil (16 Aug 1915 - December 2022) Brazilian singer, dancer, actress, producer. Already bedbound in 2021.

Isabel Crook (15 Dec 1915) Chinese-born Canadian anthropologist. Was very ill a few years ago but recovered.

James Clayton Flowers (25 Dec 1915) Tuskegee airman. Very ill for years apparently.

Yan Renmei (x x 1915) ROC socialite.

Valdemar Prukner was the oldest man born in Croatia since March 5, 2021. Died in Travemunde, Lubeck, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, in April 2023, and was born in Rijeka, Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, Austria-Hungary (now Croatia), currently the oldest male is Zdenko Premzl born in Zdenko Premzl on 25/Jul/1919

More on Karthyayani Amma's condition: Apparently she's somewhat recently suffered a stroke and she's now completely bedbound and partially paralysed.

Time for a new list of Indian centenarians/notable centenarian claimants, this time a smaller and "frailer" list than the one I posted in October 2021:

Rustom Sorabji "Rusi" Cooper (15th of December 1922-) First-class cricketer, longest-lived first-class player in the history of Middlesex County Cricket Club. Said to be very ill.

I won't add the 1923 names (atleast yet), as far as I know none of them have reached 100. All of them seem to be May-December births. There's also a politician called Shankar Dev, born 1922 marked living on wikipedia, but I doubt he's alive.

Rusi Cooper reportedly dead: https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/cricket/news/rusi-cooper-oldest-first-class-cricketer-in-the-world-100-passes-away/articleshow/102271200.cms?from=mdr

We didn’t see her standing still for quite a Time now if I remember well but recently she looked quite thinner than she used to, wouldn’t be surprised if she ends up dying in late 2023 or early 2024 for example
