She wants to make antibiotics available from chemists, no questions asked and no GP approval necessary, going against a fairly recent government public information campaign warning against taking antibiotics unnecessarily which would reduce their effectiveness over time and lead to medicine-resistant bugs. She has also admitted to hoarding her own supply of antibiotics and dishing them out to others. Ignoring the breathtaking ignorance and stupidity of her plan, sharing prescription medication with people breaches The Human Medicines Regulations 2012 (sections 46 and 47) and promoting doing such a thing is dangerous. She needs to go immediately, and Truss and ministers in the DHSC need to a) distance themselves from her comments, and b) publicly highlight the dangers of sharing medicines and misusing antibiotics.
