Just curious.. does anyone have any personal rules for themselves when picking people for their pools?  One of the main rules I have for myself is I have to on some kind of level know who they are that are on my lists. There are plenty of names on peoples lists and for that matter even the main DeathList itself that I have no clue who they are.. It wouldn't matter if they were within days of death, and 90% of people would have them in their pools.  If I don't know them they would not be put in my pools. Also wont put people on that are in situations of what I feel are tragedy situations.  Like Eugenia Cooney in her eating disorder.

Yeah, that’s why the death list is on 2 and I’m still on zero.  If I don’t know them when I first hear their names, I don’t use them.  But I knew of the Frank Beckenbauer, but I’m probably too young to really rate him as a hit and the woman from Mary Poppins, I can’t even recall her name, that’s why it was a no from me.

If I didn't know them outside of these forums, I don't include them. I'm American so a lot of the European football/racing/entertainment names aren't in consideration for me.
The only person on my list that I didn't know beforehand was Eva Marie Saint, but she's a pretty accomplished actress that I'm surprised I didn't know of.

I have one hit here with Jonnie Irwin.

That conceivably could be it for the year! ;)

First hit on my subs list with Don Murray and first hit on my regular list with Jean Malaurie shortly thereafter.  Third hit overall with Allen J. Bard.  I finally got three hits in a row in the same month.

It’s called a shadow list for a reason. You’re supposed to be shadowing the DeathList. There are 50 places on DeathList, not 55, and there is no “sub list”. If all 50 of your main picks were still alive by 1/1/24, then your subs are automatically binned and they don’t count as hits if they die subsequently.

Sixth hit of the year for me with Byron Janis.  My hits are now over 10% on my list so far and we're still in the first quarter of the year.
