Broadway - "the Great White Way"

Recommended Posts

American Theatre Hall of Fame inductee John McMartin, dead at 86. Also an "oh, him" character actor in numerous TV shows and films from Golden Girls to that Kimmy Schmidt thing your girlfriend likes.

Played the role of Oscar in Sweet Charity, the guy that gets claustrophobia in the elevator and goes to The Rhythm Of Life Church with Charity.

I played Daddy in a stage version of the show, marvellous time.

In August Eric Bergren one of the writers who adapted the film version died at 62

Anyone who worked on either the Broadway Play or film version should be feeling a bit nervous right now

^ Most important in my book as the voice of Heat Miser from The Year Without a Santa Claus. Tis why I've been picking him in pools for several years now.

Too much!

Well, they've piggy backed the story onto Carrie Fisher's death, but an obit is a qualifying obit from the Mail: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-4069404/Carrie-Fisher-s-star-George-S-Irving-1973-s-Irene-dies-day-does-94.html

There were complications, but for the moment, she feels "normal".

Double update on her health (doing ok), and also, indirectly, on the health of DDP pick Susan Gubar, who wrote that article:
