Evil Grimace 359 Posted December 21, 2023 The CorrectList will be up and running again for 2024. I'm happy to continue at the helm. Expect the thread, rules, etc. to be up late December. Depending on how the 2023 competition ends, I'd expect the update to the HoF for early January. 2
Sir Creep 7,070 Posted January 13 It’s 12 January, where the hell is the thread for Inverse 2024. Even if it’s not ready to go, the thread should have been made.
livingbygrace 333 Posted Wednesday at 15:02 Maybe there are enough pools for everyone, and many of you might say please no not another pool we have enough...But I kind of thought of a new pool game.. Everyone in the game would pick a letter. Each letter can only have one person picking it. You would then pick 20 names with some subs if needed that either first or last name would start with the letter you pick. Could make it simple with 1 point for each person that dies off your list, and maybe .1/2 point for the subs. I always like that the subs we choose can be of benefit in the game then to just be forgotten when the game starts and no longer needing a sub . The person with the most points wins the game in the end. A person can be picked more than once for teams. For instance Jimmy Carter could be picked by the C team and the J team. No one will hurt my feelings if nobody likes the idea, or we think there are more than enough games already. Just thought I would put it out there.

I have only been around for a year, and I am not one that likes to make unnecessary waves. Also maybe some people might think it is too close to the ABC game or the dictionary game? Like I said maybe it would be fun, but my feelings wont be hurt either if people would decide differently. I also thought to add a little fun was each team would have a fun name like A's are Awesome or The Beautiful B's
Toast 16,139 Posted Wednesday at 18:12 Would you assemble the players first and then allocate the letters randomly?

In my humble opinion, this is not the best time for your pool. January is coming, and everyone is already preparing their teams for the next editions of our favourite pools. I wouldn't play now. Your idea is a good idea for next spring.

Oh yes I would never consider dong it now. I was thinking no earlier then February maybe valentines day when the crazy Nov-Jan is ended. I only thought about it and wondered if there was even any interest in it

I was thinking of more like crazy eights where we have a time people can put in there request first come first serve with the letters. I was thinking of start time around 10pm UK time.. I know that many times things start at 12AM but I do not think it fair if you all over there need your sleep. So if it is 10PM UK time it would be around 5PM Eastern time which many start to get home from work. Thought it could work nicely
ladyfiona 2,580 Posted Thursday at 21:06 Have it start maybe in May (or check the timeline of when current pools end to slot yours in nicely). A few people will have announced they have terminal cancer and people will be "ah fuck my luck". Then your pool appears and gives an option for a point or two. May seems like a great month. I was not sure when a good time would be. I just know this time of the year is way way too busy, and I know there are Middle of the year pools. I want to put it in a slot that works for all.
