Obviously Britain's leading political news source has the inside track here but the gist of this - as I understand it - is that the Trump campaign are so convinced Taylor Swift will come out publicly for Kamala Harris that they're getting their dig in first. Seriously, this could be a massive own goal if they go that route. If Swift was where RFK Jr. is at the moment she'd likely walk it to the White House. Basically a re-working of the old charges to make it clear that anything where he might have had presidential immunity is out but there's still serious shit in there. can we all agree he looked really bad during this debate? he was a lot less coherent, and he seemed to be simply demented throughout the whole debate. he believed things such as the existence of “after birth abortions”, “sex change surgeries on illegal aliens”, and that Biden was a chinese and russian spy.

I hesitate to comment on things like this since I've been wrong in the past. That being said, while he wasn't as strong as his debate in July, I thought it was a pretty typical Trump appearance.

 

I didn't notice anything particularly interesting, especially compared to Joe Biden in July.

Eating pets etc. isn't as demented as drinking bleach to cure Covid. My picking him this year is simply a hunch that a fat 78-year-old guy that lacking in self-awareness and under that much pressure is a health emergency on a plate, and - fuck knows - he's aged visibly since he started with serious political campaigning. But I'm thinking he's taking the ADHD meds and gathers enough focus for the debates so doesn't appear near death. If Harris wins (47% nationally ahead in more tight swing states than Trump) I'm thinking a two-time loser, nearing 80 and facing serious legal cases rises rapidly on our collective radar from November.

I don't think that was demented at all. The people who fell for that clearly weren't well, Donald's clearly ableist. So advising people wasn't a dementia symptom, I believe it to be a genocidal act.

Aye, wasn't clear on that. Not saying demented as in dementia, more on the level of how wild and irrational each claim was. The immigrants eating pets claim has gained some traction on social media and more credulous sorts, incl. Trump, seem to believe it. As for converting bleach to a medicine fit to tackle Covid that's pure irrationality with a hefty dose of ignorance, from the then leader of the free world.
