At least 9 of the 500+ highly endangered Asiatic tigers have washed up on the banks of the local river which flooded--as expected--this monsoon season. Sounds like the argument for keeping them in a single sanctuary just went to hell; and if the humans continue to do so, so shall they.

A lovely little webpage that collects photos of auto accidents with various animals, resulting in road kill I would imagine. A separate page for deer collisions, this link below directly to livestock and a couple pets.

Enjoy!

Four northern white rhinos, as sad as this it's not quite as bad as your post makes it sound. There's still 20,000 southern white rhinos.

Couldn't some of the southern ones move north to balance things up?

I'm surprised that it's most likely the bear's "fault".

Usually it's the idiot humans who do something to anger the bison/moose/elk/bears/etc.

Authorities have captured and killed an 8-foot, 9-inch alligator that bit off an Orlando woman's arm while she was swimming.

Florida wildlife officials say Rachael D. Lilienthal, 37, was swimming in Wekiva River on Saturday when the gator attacked her, biting her twice. A kayaker struck the alligator with a paddle, causing the animal to release Lilienthal. Two kayakers brought her to the marina where deputies gave her first aid. She was taken to an Orlando-area hospital. Her condition is not known.

This week, Guinness World Records has confirmed that Corduroy is the Oldest cat living after he recently turned 26 years old - an impressive age considering domesticated cats have an average lifespan of 15 years.

The record-breaking feline previously held the record back in 2014, but lost out when the owners of Tiffany Two submitted a claim for the title. With Tiffany Two sadly recently passing away at the amazing age of 27 years, 2 months and 20 days, the record is now back in the hands of Corduroy.
Born on August 1 1989, Corduroy and his owner Ashley Reed Okura (USA) have been companions since he was a tiny kitten and she was just seven years old.
Nevertheless, Corduroy is still a few years off the Oldest cat ever, Crème Puff, who was born in 1967 and lived until 2005 – an incredible 38 years and 3 days (more than double the average life expectancy of the species).

I'm sure I heard recently that the US averages 7 bubonic cases a year.

Closer to 100.

It's never gone away, but modern antibiotics tend to zap it.

Well, apart from that strain which appeared in Madagascar a year or two back.
